Family-Friendly Games for PS3

Since I have finally entered the realm of PS3, I need suggestions for Family-Friendly games. I know I could go look them up, but at first glance, the PS3 has thousands of games to search through (or so it seems). I also don't want a game that sounds cool but really stinks. I will have a Move setup.

Things to consider:

1.) I have a 15-year-old who likes RPGs and fantasy.
2.) I have a 6-year-old that likes princesses and Sonic the Hedgehog.
3.) I am not interested in games that have blood, gore, and profanity.

For now, the Sports Champions game seems like a good start. Price will be a concern, so older games may be my best bet. If anyone is interested in selling or trading for PS3 games, controllers, Move controllers, or any other accessories, please PM or post offers. I use PayPal for purchases.

Little Big Planet and all the related games.
I think the Kingdom Hearts games are available on PlayStation Network by now, they do include cartoon violence so maybe read up a bit on them but overall they are very family friendly.
The Crash Bandicoot games are also on PSN, Crash is kind of the PlayStation version of Sonic I guess. All games rated E. Was probably my favorite series growing up.
There are Lego versions of nearly every pop culture movie series. Star Wars Harry Potter and the like.

Edit: and the PSN games are usually $15 or less. I have no idea what the original little big planet is down to.

Im a little rusty on my console gaming know how but this is some of the stuff I used to play....

For family friendly PS3 exclusive stuff I highly recommend the "Little Big Planet" games they are like Mario style platforming games but you can make your own levels and stuff its fun stuff.

For PS3 RPGs the ones I can think off the top of my head are...

Final Fantasy (there are all the old ones on the PS Network store also)
Eternal Sonata (Really sweet Japanese game if you can find it)
Tales Of Vesperia (Tactics kinda stuff pretty fun hard to find)
White Knight Chronicles
Elder Scrolls V. Skyrim or Elder Scrolls IV. Oblivion or Mass Effect series (these are rated M have some more mature elements and some blood but really are more like T+ games. I would recommend looking them up and judging for yourself)

For RPG's dont discount the PS Network games cause they have alot of PS1 and PS2 RPG's for download only and for pretty cheap too.
3 Prophets Packs ftw

The Final Fantasy and Elder Scrolls games, while some of my favorite, are not very family friendly. The rest I can't comment on since I've never played or heard of them.

I only have a PS2, so I don't know if they have these games for PS3...

But my family loves to play Lego Star Wars I and II.  They also really enjoy the Spiderman game and Need for Speed racing.  I personally enjoy the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King game, but haven't let my kids play it yet.  I also really like Star Wars: Battlefront I and II games, but my kids are still a bit young for those too (although I've let them watch the space ship boards).  If I had a son Joshua's age, I'd be playing both of those with him.

I believe LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is available for PS3 (it's basically LSW 1 and 2 combined into a single, refreshed game). LEGO Star Wars 3: The Close Wars is also on PS3 and I thoroughly enjoy it. Same with LEGO Lord of the Rings. I enjoy the LEGO Harry Potter games as well, but they are based on the movies/books and revolve around magic (replaced the Force from the LEGO SW games for manipulating objects/people in the world). LEGO Indiana Jones (LIJ) 1 is pretty good. LIJ2 is okay but suffers from horrible hub design (the overall world that you are running around in whenever you aren't in a specific mission). LIJ2 is a remake, just so you're aware, of LIJ1 with the addition of levels for the 4th movie.

Little Big Planet can be fun, though it quickly became boring for me personally as it is rather repetitive.

If you enjoy card games, Eye of Judgment (EoJ) is a fun game (especially if you have family members to play it with). EoJ requires the Playstation Eye camera, and it can be hard to find the starter pack anymore (has the game, a starter deck, the playmat, and the Eye camera), but if you can find it and manage to set it up (the camera can be spazzy with dim light) it's enjoyable. There's no gore or bad language that I can remember, though it's been a bit since I last played it (my apartment doesn't have both a flat surface large enough AND sufficient illumination in very many places).

If you enjoy puzzle games, I highly recommend Echochrome. It has puzzles based on perspective and point of view and it's thoroughly enjoyable. Available on the PlayStation Network store.

Could you PM me more info on Eye of Judgment? The starter pack is available new and sealed for $27 on eBay, but I don't know how long they will last. I won't need the camera, since the PS3 I bought has one included with the Move (unless they are different cameras).

PM sent YMT. I forgot to put this in the PM, but if you do end up getting EoJ I'd love to play some matches against you or your family once you get acquainted with the game. :P
