I know its crazy, the person who bashes Sony and Microsoft like its his job, is asking which one would be better to buy? The reasons I am thinking of getting either of them is 1 I want to upgrade from my PS2, 2 Destiny looks AMAZING, and 3, I want a BlueRay player. So if you had the choice which one would you pick?

Xbone. Titanfall is all you need right now.

I had a thread a while back where I discussed my decision making process. The bottom line is that I chose the PS3 for the BluRay. I was then pleasantly surprised with the PlayStation Network. There are several family friendly games that are download only, like Dungeon Defenders and Crazy Machines, that I play with my 16-year-old and 7-year-old. Lately my family has been hooked on MineCraft.

Also note that High Definition makes many of the staple family games (like Lego Everything-you-can-imagine or Star Wars Battle Something-or-other) look so much better.  ;D

Based on the title of this thread, I was assuming that he was trying to go the cheaper route of the previous gen systems.

This is correct. I currently don't have the money to invest in two next gen consoles. If I did, I would probably stay clear of bones with Xs on them ;). At the moment I'm leaning towards the PS3, thanks to exclusives like LBP and MNR.

The only real difference between the systems (other than PS3 having Bluray) is the console exclusives. For me personally, I'm not into shooters and the like which are the primary exclusives that Microsoft gets (though the Fable games are one of my all-time favorite series, but I think those are available for PC as well). PS3, on the other hand, has exclusives ranging across the board. The inFamous series (prior to Second Son which is only on PS4) gives you a super hero adventure game, Playstation All-Stars gives you a Smash Brothers-esque beat em up featuring Sony characters, LBP gives you all sorts of things, etc.

At one time I had all the previous gen systems (Wii, X360, and PS3) and the only one that I've kept and still play on is the PS3. :2cents:

Yeah it's definitely going to be the PS3. But on a side note is anyone else excited about Destiny? It's FPS mixed with RPG and open world gameplay. So side quests and other stuff looks AMAZING! The customization looks like it has a lot of depth where you can choose you class among other things. So my final statement WoW meets Halo? Yes please!
