VG Disappointment

I have been a long time fan of a video game series that has now completely lost any and all of my support for it. The reason is that the series has thrown a monkey wrench into the combat system with the confirmation that there are now FAIRYs. This is a game that should not have that, especially because the fairys can easily kill DRAGONs. What the heck were the developers thinking?!?!

Good thing you told us what series you're talking about, otherwise I would be really confused.

We haven't seen much, I think its a little pre-emptive to jump the gun with oh noes WTBBQNINJAS is fairies. Dragons have been VERY powerful for a while and its nice to see a new type. Fairy's being able to stop dragons isn't too absurd either.

Pokemon isn't banned. Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon.

I like fairies. Dragons are OP in competitive play.

Fairies will help bring balance to the game. Besides, it's not like there are any good fairy pokemon (Sylveon might be playable, but it'd need an ability other than Cute Charm).

Wait... theres a Fairy type now?

How are they going to distinguish this from exsisting pokemon like Celebi?

We already know there are several old pokemon that are getting the retroactive fairy type.

Fine, it's not like there are any good fairy attackers.

Well you don't know that there won't be, there could be new pokemon that haven't been revealed yet that are fairy type.

I have it on good authority that Alex Olijar is a fairy.

I didn't realize there was a rules thread in here. There's updated rules for the forum in off topic.

My thought as Moderator on that rule is that the occasional topic is fine in and of itself (unless Rob specifies otherwise), but I would begin moderating if....
   1. Pokemon became excessive (i.e. taking over all boards and conversations).
   2. People began bashing Redemption and praising Pokemon by comparison.

In both cases, I would gently remind individuals involved that there is likely a Pokemon message board if that is their interest.

I agree with SS and moderate basically the same way.

For instance, I would NOT lock a thread where someone like Ken or Roy offered a deal to trade away people's old Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh cards for Redemption cards to help spread this game.  However I would probably lock/delete a thread where someone said that they've decided Redemption is lame and want to get rid of all their cards if someone will give them some cool Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh cards.  The first thread is positive towards Redemption over its competitors, while the second is the opposite.

This particular thread is critical of one of Redemption's competitors, so I felt like it could stay.  I would feel differently if there were too many threads going at any one time that were focused on a competitors game though.  This is the Redemption forum, and most threads should be focused on Redemption :)

The more I think about it....I want to applaud and thank Zexal92 for attempting to abide by the guidelines of this board.  That is very commendable of you and your actions brought encouragement to me.
