I have always been a big nintendo fan...and I was thinking of picking up a Wii after Christmas. But then I remembered how much my old DS was before I traded it, and I noticed there are ALOT of nice RPGs and other games coming out on the DS, so I CAN"T DECIDE???

Any opinions...it will be mainly for me...so the party aspect is out so I suppose that reduces the Wii's desirability a little.

BUT I do love the retro games you can download from the Wii network...

If the choice is between Wii and DS, the main thing to consider is when/where you'll be doing your gaming. Will it mostly be when you're bored at home, or perhaps you travel frequently and get bored on the trips? If you want something to do anywhere, get a DS. It's far more portable than the Wii. If the when/where doesn't matter so much, then go for the one that's in your budget range (including whatever games/accessories/etc. you would get for it right away). It's nice to have 4 controllers for the Wii right away in case you do end up entertaining friends (assuming you have any multiplayer games, of course

) whereas the DS is all-inclusive (for 90% of games) right out of the box in terms of needed accessories (if a game needs a funky one, it'll usually be packaged with the game).

if you do decide to get a ds though, you might want to wait until the new dsi comes out.

I love my Wii, but that is mainly because of the multiplayer fun. I think the DS is your best bet if you are going solo. I also agree with the Chief that you should get the DSi. However, be advised that RPGs on the DS are still limited (by modern standards).

I know the RPGs are limited but I LOVE the old school FF and Chrono Trigger game which is a plus and some others that I want to play.

Such as one that starts with a P..

If you love Final Fantasy get a DS lite because you can play FF 1-6 on it and there is an updated re-release of Chrono Trigger for it There's also Nostalgia which is an old style RPG
Don't get a DSi because it doesn't have a GBA slot

If you like all the old school nintendo games then you could buy them off the wii shop channel or you could use your old gamecube disks. You just can't beat the old mario carts:)

I was for a wile thinking about getting a ps3 but I think that the best game unit is a pc. you can just do alot more with a pc than any kind of system.

If you can't decide between a DS or Wii, go for the Wii. Nintendo doesn't make very many good DS games. Another choice would be a PSP.
