More Redemption.  We don't have a Wii at our house, and we're still very happy.  :)

Nope.  No xbox, ps3, ps2, supernintendo, nintendo, atari, or pong.

Just a PC with a handful of games, a cabinet full of board games, and a cabinet full of cards from our favorite trading card games (of which Redemption is king, followed by these old dead games: Lord of the Rings, Vs System, Overpower, G.I. Joe, Anachronism, Dixie, Eagles, Marvel Ultimate Battles, Showdown basketball, Showdown baseball, The Mission, Timestream, Principality, Teen Titans, Pirates of the Carribean, and a few others I've forgotten).  :)

Oh, and we have some minitures games, too: Wings of War, Axis and Allies, Heroclix, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Spanish Main, and Attacktix.

With all these great games, why would anyone want a Wii?  Maybe an only child whose parents won't play games with them and whose friends can't come over often?

And board games.  Board games are awesome.  Some of them have so many bits and pieces, they're almost like miniatures games themselves (I'm looking at you, Fantasy Flight).

a wii wont force you to rip anything in half when you want to play something.

A wii also doesn't get to discard three heroes. If it did it would have to rip itself.  ;)

I say xbox 360... you can ALWAYS buy more redemption. An xbox 360, with a good game or two will last you years and is a one time investment.

Imo $500 in dead card games and board games > Xbox 360 + a few Games + Xbox Live

Hey Bryon when did you get Pirates of the Spanish Main? We should play at the church New Years thing!

Would you spend $400 on Redemption cards? That's the money it would take to buy a Wii and a few games. If you play Redemption in person a lot, then perhaps Redemption cards is a good idea, but depending on how much money you have, I would get a Wii. It's a great investment, and will hold your interest for just as long as any other X-Box game would. In fact, I think Wii is way more interesting than any other console because of its remote. And it has all types of games, from E to M, from FPS's to Mario adventure games. Wii all the way!

Wal-Mart has a sale on wiis until the 12th. $199.99 for a wii, controller, nunchuck, wii sports (I think), AND A $50 WAL-MART GIFT CARD (buy a game, another controller, charging station, what have you!). That is a pretty good deal, so I'd consider getting the wii.

Well in that case, that Walmart deal sounds like something you should jump on.

I would go with neither. I'd invest some in redemption and some in other card games (dead ones which are cheaper for the most part) for more options than just one if you have a group to play card games with.... If not get the wii.

These were really funny in combination.  I could see a whole thread based on this back-and-forth :)

as it is usually fairly easy to fix it yourself (using the well-known 'penny trick'), i strongly advise against doing so. for one, if you open up or break any seals on your 360, it voids your warranty. two, microsoft will repair it for free. and three, if its repaired by microsoft, they will extend your warranty. microsoft is pretty good at remedying its xbox mistakes.

Sheesh, I could get you started in Redemption with some great cards for cheaper then that!!!!
$50 and I can get you some of the top cards in the game with a lot of great fillers.

Plus, for those that say video game consoles are great investments.  Tell that to my older 4 Nintendos (original to gamecube) that are gathering dust.   There are always bigger and better systems that will come out.  A solid foundation of Redemption cards will last a lot longer.  Plus, the Bible knowledge it will teach you will outlast the game itself if you allow it.   Just some extra  :2cents: from someone who has both.

if this were true, then redemption wouldnt need expansions.

Even current consoles have games which one must purchase in order to play those games on said console.  An "expansion" of your original purchase, as it were.
