this is one of the coolest and most original games i have ever played. the sheer amount of freedom and exhiliration you experience when free-running is phenomenal...the combat moves are pretty awesome too...

anyone else play the demo yet?

Looks awesome, what system(s) is it for and what's it rated?

I was waiting for someone to mention this. I saw MirrorsEdge in E3.
I have a passion for Parkour. I might get this, when it comes out.

its coming out for ps3, xbox 360, and pc. im not sure what its rated, but im pretty sure it wont be mature, because from what i played, it wasnt that violent at all (in fact, you're encouraged to run away in any instance that you can).

Achievements for shooting no one! Seriously looks good though, I couldn't believe this was being made by EA.

ea is the publisher, dice developed it (people behind battlefield 2: modern combat). i was at first wary of this game because of its breaking outside the usual mold and formula of games, but once i knew who was developing it, my worries faded.

and actually, you can shoot people (in my demo, i disarmed a couple of guards and took their guns), but who needs to do that when you can do drop kicks and slide kicks and wickedly awesome combo moves? :)

The rooftop gameplay is what really got me in.

Parkour wins too much.

awesome videos man! those got me even more pumped up for mirrors edge!

remember to preorder Mirrors Edge through Gamestop to not only get an access code to play the time trial mode on the demo, but also get a gamestop exclusive Mirrors Edge runner bag! exactly like the one faith uses in the game! :)

The same was said about Crysis... but that was made by Crytek. ;)

anyone else play the demo yet?

If they would actually release one for the PC...

my gamestop doesnt have it yet. but its all dependent upon what content the microsoft rep that comes in decides to update it with. a gamestop near you may already have it.

you dont have xbl to dl it from for free?

Yeah... PC reigns over XBox because I dont have to pay ANYTHING except for the internet connection itself.  :) Don't make me pay just to connect to the internet when my computer does it for free.

yeah, thats one con against xbl service, because you have to pay $50 bucks a year for it. doesnt matter to me though, because the microsoft reps that come in every month or so always load me up with free subscriptions and marketplace points. the xbl community is also one of the strongest out there, and if i were anyone else, i'd rather pay $50 a month and play any xbox live compatible game i want for a whole year, rather than shell out $15 a month on world of warcraft and be affiliated as a computer nerd with half the social life of a goldfish.

even further, as long as you have an internet connection, you can still access xbox live silver, which is access to the marketplace and every demo released on xbox live. so its still free to download the demo.

it should also be noted that the playstation network is 100% free.

Yeah, I agree with all of that, including the WoW part. I play ONE subscription game, and its $5 a month, and its completely online so I didnt have to buy the game itself.

Everything else I play is totally free aside from buying the game itself... most of which I buy for the singleplayer anyways.

But we are getting off topic.

I got the demo of Mirror's Edge for my PS3 the day it came out, and I must say I was very impressed. I just messed around and didn't really try to beat it yet, but it is a lot of fun. I will definitely be checking out the full game when it comes out.

Seriously XBL is like 5 dollars a month. Do you see a movie once every two months? The cost is about the same after drinks and popcorn and you get more  playtime out of XBL.

well...most one year subscriptions out there give you an additional month, so its actually 13 months for 50 bucks...which equals about $3.8 a month. not a bad deal at all to play any xbl compatible game you want, plus take advantage of all the cool features of the marketplace.

The pricing in Canada is a little different. I pay $60 for 13 months, so its like  $4.62 a month.
