If I had a 360, I'd probably get Halo Wars. However, on the flipside, I have to agree an RTS on a console can only be okay compared to an RTS on the PC. PC allows for much more dynamic play, easier funtionality, and whatnot. But, an RTS is an RTS, and even if it is okay I'd probably play it
EDIT: Typo fix

yay for necropost
agreed, rts' in general function considerably better on the pc; however, halo wars is by far one of the best outings for an rts on the 360.

I don't know. I think the game is a take off of red alert but with some improvements. If I played the game though, I would want if for pc.

I'd definetly get it if it came out on the PC. But I don't think I've heard that to be likely in the near future.

Did anybody get the legendary edition?
I am thinking of buying Halo wars and I wanted to know what is the legendary edition and is it worth it if I don't have live?

you get a few more extra things in the limited edition. from amazon.com (
http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Wars-Limited-Xbox-360/dp/B001F6KSDM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1246469473&sr=8-2
):
In addition to including the standard retail version of Halo Wars , this Collector's Edition includes:
The Mythic Map Pack from Bungie with three new Halo 3 multiplayer maps: Assembly, Orbital, and Sandbox.
Halo Wars: Genesis, a graphic novel by Phil Noto, Graeme Devine, and Eric Nylund that follows the Spirit of Fire and examines the very first UNSC military campaign against the Covenant
Access to the Covenant Honor Guard Wraith in-game vehicle
Six Leader Cards representing Leaders' with access to elite skills
A Spirit of Fire Patch for identifying yourself as a real crew member
in regards to live, yes, i still think halo wars itself justifies the purchase even if you dont have live. it has a very involving campaign, and a skirmish mode which allows you to to play against the computer on multiplayer maps. you can even adjust the AI to several different levels, including a level that automatically gets harder and harder as you progress. you can also have computer-controlled allies to play 2v2 or 3v3. so yes, i think halo wars is very much worth the purchase even without live. i do encourage you to get live though...playing online against thousands of different players is really fun.

thanks for the update.
yes, the new maps are out, and this time this dlc is actually worth the money than the last dlc. 4 maps for 10 bucks is a great deal...even if glacial ravine is almost an exact copy and paste of frozen valley. blood river and memorial basin are my personal faves from the new dlc.
