Have you guys been watching the stuff going on at E3? I'm excited to see what surprises nintendo has in store today, and I'm also very excited for Red Steel 2!
I'm really wanting to get a 360 now too. Project Natal looks to be possibly even more cool than the wii, not to mention all the awesome games coming out such as
Assassin's Creed II
Modern Warfare 2
New Old Republic Game
Prototype
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Halo: Reach
Yea, I want a 360... I really hope I get a job at one of our gamestops...
-
To go slightly off-topic, fans of Splinter Cell were really excited about three weeks before E3, because Ubisoft started releasing teasers for it. To go back OT, I am not disappointed by Splinter Cell. Modern warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed II look like they'll be good games too.
-
Old Republic? I want cite now.
-
just go to ign.com, and search for it
-
Cool, thanks.

Project Natal looks amazing. Halo: Reach looks good, but since I'm more of an online gamer, the storyline doesn't interest me as much as the multiplayer. Hopefully they'll stay true to the mechanics of Halo 2 and 3 and keep it similar, but add in new weapons/vehicles/aspects to keep it fresh.
I haven't decided if I'm going to get Modern Warfare 2 or not... I didn't like the first one, but I really like World at War.
And all I have left to say.... YES! SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION!!!!!!!

Waiting for Nintendo
:prayer:
Pikmin 3, a 2-D Metroid or a Home Console Zelda

Although I agree that Project Natal looks very very cool, I just can't see it being very accurate, as the player no longer has the constant of the controller that a machine should need. I'm ready to be impressed, though.
However, giving Microsoft access to a camera of one's living room is not something I would recommend to anyone.

Hey now, my dad works for Microsoft. I take offense. :P

Sony absolutely blew Nintendo and Microsoft out of the water in my opinion. That motion tracker controller was AMAZING. Far better than the avatar breaking all his bones trying to show the bottom of his shoe.
Also, I've been waiting for sony's last video for a looong time. ;D
Finally... what was Nintendo thinking? The Vitality sensor?
-
halo: reach. 'nuff said.

Halo: We ran out of storyline but need more money so are making new games anyways?
-
halo: reach. 'nuff said.
Eh...
As long as they stay true to their amazing multi-player system and mechanics, then I'm all for it. I find the Halo campaigns boring. The first Halo campaign was absolutely amazing, since then... I haven't been a fan of Halo 2's or Halo 3's campaign.
Right now I'm mainly looking forward to Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Oh and Master KChief, you're about to receive a PM regarding a question I had.
-
reply sent.
regarding the new halo...has anyone REALLY played halo for the campaign? :) although, it has slightly gotten progressively better with each new release...but the heart and soul of halo still lies in its stellar multiplayer. i have no doubt in my mind bungie will deliever yet again.
im sort of hesitant about ac2...its a great game the first hour or so, but you soon come to find out it is VERY VERY REPETITIVE. if they can somehow mix it up in ac2, i'll be happy. and yes, sc:c has looked like a great game ever since i saw screenshots of it a couple of years ago.

Which just shows that Nintendo was right to go for motion control.

Did you see the demo of it? It beats the Wiimote hands down.
Heres a video of it for those who havent seen it:

it may beat nintendo hands down right now, but just like the battle between apple and microsoft, the one that comes out with a certain technology before the others tends to keep one step ahead. Nintendo may not have announced anything big today, but Reggie said in an interview with IGN that they like to keep things secret and won't announce a "new technology" until it's ready....
Also, there is hope for the future! during his round table meeting, miyamoto did talk about the new zelda for wii. Link is more mature than ever, and it will most likely only be playable with the wii motion plus. He said "think of zelda when you're playing archery and the sword fighting in the new wii resort game."
Now I'm a little more excited...
-
i've always viewed the motion controls to be just a novelty...personally i think its the wrong direction to go with videogames.
-
I disagree. If the motion control is that advanced, then we hsould go there. Imagine being Master Chief, instead of just manipulating him.
-
i really dont think it'll come to the point where we'll be able to play full-fledged titles like halo or cod or street fighter with just motion controls. i suppose technically you could, but would require far too much physical exertion to warrant such entertainment. theres a fine line between videogames and reality, and motion controls certainly blurs them, but in the end, motion technology will still end up just a novelty good for a few casual games. if you really want to 'be master chief', join the army or something.
-
Well, the biggest problem IMO is finding a way to run in various directions. If they can solve that, anything is possible.

+ 1 I was thinking the same thing.
-
i was thinking more along the lines of jumping. i jump/turn/strafe ALOT in h3...this will get tiring VERY quickly.

So they had more time to copy the idea. Not sure what your point is. I didn't say the Wiimote was better; I had no information to make that call. I just said they did it first and it worked enough to be copied.
Not to mention Nintendo's own controls are in the process of upgrade, and there's no indication yet what will be their next console.

True... Still, I have a feeling that sony's "copy" will hurt the Wii quite a bit.

Lets just hope its something that at least has 1080P support... :D

Not if they maintain a $600 price point.
