Seriously best game for DS ever, I ordered mine out of Japan and it just came today and after only an hour of playing it I'm thoroughly hooked it's like Kingdom of Hearts but 10x better. Has anyone else around here played it?

I loved it.  I have a rather short attention span when it comes to video games, but TWEWY kept me enthralled in the story at least all the way through, and the gameplay is interesting, unique, and challenging.  It's not the kind of game you'll spend hundreds of hours beating or exploring every little nook and cranny, but it's a ton of fun.  It did remind me of Kingdom Hearts, without the clunkyness of KH:1 or the absurdly easy gameplay of KH:2.  Console and handheld games aren't all that comparable, but The World Ends with You and Kingdom Hearts do have a lot in common, so it's likely that if you enjoyed one franchise that you'll enjoy the other.  I don't think that Kingdom Hearts translated all that well onto the GBA and DS, the portable games had nowhere near the engaging and compelling atmosphere that the console games did.  The World Ends with You feels perfectly natural on the DS though.  It has a grittier, more serious attitude that I think helps keep it from feeling too "childish", even though it's on a handheld system.

+1 all the way accept for one point, Kingdom of Hearts 358/2 days was an amazing addition to the ds. It would benefit from the battle style and gamplay style of TWEWY but it is none the less a valiant effort

I would be into the PC gaming world, but my laptop is't a gaming laptop so it most likely could't hold the game itself.

I don't know, I found the static atmosphere and overly-mysterious-yet-somehow-still-uninteresting story of KH358/2 Days to be really off-putting.  I admit I didn't finish it, so maybe it got better, but it was nowhere near as engaging as the console games.  The combat was ok, but the deck system didn't seem that interesting to me, and it hardly even affected combat.  Going back to Castle Oblivion after every mission and still being confined to one room was boring and frustrating for me.  I know it's difficult to create the same sense of scope and being in a multitude of huge worlds on a handheld device, but it seemed to me like they were just relying on people to be big enough fanboys of the characters to keep them interested, despite the sub-par presentation and storytelling.  I'd rather go back and play KH1 on my PS2 than play 358/2 days.
