play against 3 level nine comps. Yeah, it's hard, and you might be able to beat it anyway, but put them with strong characters. It teaches you how to use shield and dodge a lot, cause that's about your only hope, instead of lelying on simple power moves.

NO NO NO

Practicing against level 9 CPUs will not make you better..

They will only teach yo to spam.

The only way to get good is to play better people.

True, after you beat up on them enough the computer god-modes them and then you're pretty much dead in the water

I've already done that. It dosn't help that much because your in the air half of the time.

Training?

Don't play CPU's. You'll get bad habits. They don't have the capabilities of a Human player.

Indeed. It's not like Age of Empires in harder modes where the CPUs will wipe you out in 5 minutes while you were still trying to find a foraging bush.

Which just means that you need more practice. Do arial attacks, dodge in the air, and don't get hit. Practice more!

That's why I play Rise of Nations  ;)

Playing other people is the best way, however, it's not true that you won't form bad habits playing against people, you do just the same as if you're playing computers, just different ones.  If you're going to train against a computer, play against ONE level 7 CPU and beat it into the ground.  Three Level 9s is largely a useless way to train, as you don't really learn anything except how to fight three level 9s.
