He didnt add anything, he just took out other stuff to reveal the fail.
tree 63 is NOT fail.
if he thinks they fail then he's seriously mistaken and he fails for it
Andy, everyone has opinions. Don't flame people for having opinions. You'll have a miserable life if you do, because truth is, no one is going to have the same opinion as you, so deal with it.
not to be rude but who do you think you are, telling me that?
it offended me when he listed tree 63 is fail.

Lots of people don't like LeCrae and Tobymac, but I have never been offended by a difference in opinion.

Then please pratice that and don't flame people who watch Family Guy.

There's a difference in not liking something due to personal preference (e.g. Tree63) and not liking something because of the content of the thing (e.g. Family Guy).

Also, are you guys talking about the Left Behind movies or books?  The movies were decent (considering they didn't have much of a budget for them) but the books were great.

Plus, Barlow Girls' has a great message for all young women that I pray will catch on.

There are an extreme lack of good christian bands that aren't a complete and utter rip off of some other band.

The funny thing is is that you could say the exact same thing to most secular bands.  That is just how the game is played.  When a ocuple of groups makes a style big, other unknown bands pick up that style and play them.  When the style becomes popular, the unknown bands become popular for an album or two.  It's not about Christians ripping off others (though there are a few who are complete rip-offs (Plus One anyone ;))).  It all about what's popular and the bands who want to be known/popular/trying to get a message out/just enjoys playing that style.

I would say that if they wanted to be recognized, best thing to do would be original. IMO, original bands are always much more interesting to listen to than copycats.

However, not everyone has the talent to be original.  Does that mean they shouldn't play?  There would only be a very small selection of bandS to pick from if you had to be original all the time.
Also, though the sounds might not be original, the message that is in the music (KDUV :P) might be original.

Yes.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I agree. I'm not a musician though, so I didn't feel like I could be the first to bring that up.

Sorry but yes. if the music sounds the same at least have original lyrics. If they have neither, why clog up the air waves with um?

I can't write original music for the life of me. This is why I do not play music. I instead do what I am much better at, visual art.

Modern corporate music is more or less just as bad as Christian music. The exceptions are those bands (like MGMT, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Deathcab for Cutie, Kings of Leon, and Modest Mouse) that got big on their own as indie bands and then went major label.

I suppose pre-90's it used to be the other way around: you didn't get signed if you weren't good. Now it seems that artists that go straight to a major label are "straight to video", so to speak.

Yes.
I'm pretty sure Daniel and I have both said to musical associates (though not to each other too much) "that sounds too much like _____ song". There's been times that we have also said "do an Edge like riff here", "do a Beatlesque fill here", or "do a Beach Boys harmony here". I think most of the rip off worry has to do with the progression of the song than the feel of the song.

As a shout out to the listeners, never compare songs to songs when you give musicians compliments, especially if it's a pop song. They'll sit at home obsessing as to whether or not they pulled a Bitter Sweet Symphony.

we should go back to the good old days where everyone was original you had only a few major bands but they were the good ones (Circle jerks, K.I.S.S., Grateful Dead,Rolling stones and of course Queen.) Now I'm not saying I endorse these bands for their lovely christian lyrics I endorse them for the sound they created
Or we could just all forsake the corporate music scene and embrace the innovations of the independent music community.

Also, with the internet and the ease of controlling people with media, you'd only have The Jonas Brothers and friends (no offense to any ignorami who may be fans of that horrible band and therefore complete idiots).

D.C. Talk is ok, but I want to see them top Dream Theater as far as songwriting goes.

Mae. Great band.

Along with:
TFK
Skillet
RED

I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned Relient K... but I know we're also mostly guys here...
Gates of Hell is by far the best card in the game.  No questions asked.

That'd be a bit hard to pull off due to the need to have "god mode" level characters that couldn't die, I guess NPCs would do but they lead the battles so...

That wouldn't be any more of a Christian RPG than a Lord of the Rings RPG.

I agree with the overall sub par quality of "Christian" music/movies/games. Although if we consider Kanye West a "Christian" artist I may change my mind. Jesus Walks!
