So, I have an opportunity to play Type 2 at an upcoming tournament, but I've only played Type 2 once before (and it was a casual game with family so it didn't matter how good/bad the deck was) so I'm not very familiar with it at all. I was looking through my cards, and I had a couple random ideas, but I didn't really have the cards necessary to make any of them anywhere close to consistent. I'm just wondering if you Type 2 experts have any suggestions for how/what to build since I'm at a complete loss >_<.
It's for Type 2 2-player, if that matters.

If you are using a limited card pool I would just use what you have the most of. Most offenses focus on abusing a couple combos such as Jacob + RTC, ET + AoCP, or Hidden Treasures + ANB + FBTN characters. Genesis offenses that utilize Jacob, Zeb, Benjamin and CotH usually are pretty effective. I also like using Joshua the HP/Phinehas with Zeal. T2 offenses usually try to take advantage of pre-block ignore, FBTN or CBN battle winners such as AoCP, zeal, etc. Gold offenses can also be very good with all the converts and SWJs. For defense you usually need a mix of low and high numbered guys so you don't get caught off guard. I have found a crimson defense with Leviathan, Nebby, Nebushaban, etc to be very good. I usually run 4 or 5 Mid Attacks, 3 or 4 Nebby's Prides and a couple bel's banquets. Some other popular defenses are Phillys, demons, and stand alones.

I'm no expert but I would recommend having one of the armies (babylonians, egyptians, assyrians, or philistines) and having a TGT, Genesis, or Disciples offense.

I only have one of pretty much all those cards (except that I have 4 ANBs) so I'm not sure I could make an offense of any specific one of your suggestions.

Here's a type 2 deck ive been using and its fairly cheap to build! It has a couple of Spirit of Temptations in it also to help lower thier hand. It still needs another good card. and something on evil switched out for Destruction.

no doms?

i could throw in SoG or as The Guardian has suggested CM for blocks. It usually has a Destruction in it but not as of lately.
-
Looks like a fun deck, but I don't have any captured arks (and they seem to be in short supply lately) and probably not 5 of everything that needs to be at 5 >_<
-
DON'T LISTEN TO CLIFT!! HE'LL TURN YOU TO THE DARK SIDE OF THE DARK SIDE!!
Now that that's done, I have a couple of "poor man's" T2 decks that I've made just using 4 or 5 starter decks. Running 4 or 5 Plague of Frogs or Sapphira/Deceit of Sapphira can be fun. Gold or Green are very cheap good brigades to play. Gold with A New Creation and other converts with a couple Three Nails is a good strategy. Green with Provisions, Plague of Frogs, Prophets, and Benaiah Snatches Spear (one of my favorite cards in the game, especially on Benaiah) is also good and cheap. Notice, I didn't say ANB...
Evil brigades that are cheap are Brown (Gibeonite Trickery and Shimei's Malicious Curse), Crimson (Midianite Attack and banding), Gray (Syrian Victory and Balaam's Disobedience), and Gold (Wonders Forgotten and Pagan Sacrifice). Like The M said, a culture defense is a good way to go, but these are common enhancements that you can get pretty easily.
I hope that helped.

Yea- DoU+Golgotha is pretty sic.
-
DoU = rare and Golgotha = 3 per deck and Disciples.

Not to mention 3 in 400 cards.... :P
-
ok-ok DoU not hard to get- Golgotha...if anyone wants to trade one, please lemme know! but this is meant to just be a rough draft and no DOMS pretty cheap deck. DoU's and golgotha can def come out for something else...
-
I don't see the need for 3 I am creators...I like the idea with I am holy and joiada but you can do a half nd half and it would work awesomely.
-
I agree, but with three its like having 13 heros so u get both on turn 1. maybe uzzahs could be added in deck to discard them after u dont need them?
-
It still needs another good card
No you gotta take out on evil card so it's at 100. ;)
Eric pretty much hit it on the head for cheap type 2 starts. I always say use what you have the most of. If you don't have enough to make a type 2 deck then just wait a bit, it'll come together.
-
In the long-term, I may aim to try and acquire the cards for RTS's suggestion, but seeing as the tourney is a week from today I don't see me getting them in time for that. Instead, I'll give Eric's suggestions top priority and dive into my cards when I get home to see what fun things I can make :)
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
