Boo! More like boring Type 2 lol. Good deck though. You should try what I am right now, it's a lot of fun and has a lot of things to do on both sides of the deck. Want me to send you a list?

I fail to see the point of playing this deck.

If it works, then you will just walk in 5-7 times on offense and will keep all your own LSs shuffled in your deck.  There will be practically no interaction with your opponent at all.

If it runs into a combo deck (like Gabe won with last year) that goes off on turn 2, then you'll just sit there sifting through cards as your opponent walks in 5-7 times on offense, and there will again be practically no interaction with your opponent.

Why do people even play T2 anymore?

Prof, what you fail to realize is that some people enjoy that type of game.  Not everyone holds to the same values you do. ;)

I do not see those combo decks being played with anymore. If the new combo decks, the search ones that take a while do start occuring more, this deck will beat it since it is 10x faster.

Couldn't anyone say the same about type 1?
Type 2 is more strategy and longer games with more interaction from my experience.

I actually do realize it, but you are entirely correct my friend that some people do seem to enjoy playing Redemption in a way that minimizes interaction with their opponent.  To me that ceases to be a "game" and turns into a demonstration.  I had never thought about this before, but perhaps my feelings are influenced by my childhood science fair memories.

I remember the year that "volcano" projects were banned.  The reasoning was that they were no longer doing an "experiment" because they had been done so much that everyone knew what would happen before they started.  They weren't answering a question or learning anything.  They were merely demonstrating how cool their volcano was.

I feel the same way about this sort of thing in Redemption.  When the interaction is removed, it seems to me that it turns into merely demonstrating how cool a person's deck that they built is.  The opponent is not really even an opponent anymore, but rather an audience to observe their awesomeness.  There is something about that which really rubs me the wrong way.

My question is with two promised lands and a single artifact (temple veil) Do you ever run into problems with site decks? I think a well built, slightly fast, brown sitelockout could give you some issues.

So they can attend Minnesota's Type 2 only local tournament. ;D This years tournament should be a gas. With the new set there should be lots of interesting decks. Drawing prize for all the place winners will be a complete set of TX. First Saturday in March. Details will start to trickle out in 2010.

I haven't run into a straight site defense yet. I've only seen a few sites, but those were purple and for the territory protection.  :P  But I can see that changing, which is why I planned on changing the deck.

@Tyler - Yesh. I'd love a list, if I have enough of the cards I may use it at the next tournament and let you know how it goes.

@Prof - I hope you understand how inconsiderate you're being by arguing in this thread. I just wanted some input on the deck, not someone to post saying "Your deck is pointless to play with, it's no fun at all." Well, I see it as plenty of fun. HALF of my games I've had Just a Hireling discarded from my deck, having to find weird ways to block my opponent without it is actually quite fun. Also, I don't build my deck thinking "Oh, THIS will provide more interaction with my opponent!" I build it thinking "What strategies will I possibly be facing? Will this be able to win against (blank)? Would this work against (blank)? etc..."

I'm yet to play someone who was truely upset that they had to play me when I was using a deck similar to this. Since this is directed at me, that's showing a lot of disrespect towards your fellow brother under Christ.

I will admit, that although I am obviously not a big fan of T2, your annual tournament is the biggest thing that I feel like I'm missing out on because of it.

@Prof - I hope you understand how inconsiderate you're being...
I assumed that since you started the thread by saying that you were tired of playing with this deck due to games being repetitive, that you would understand my frustrations with T2.  I apologize for the misunderstanding, and now that I know that you don't wish this to be part of your thread, I will cease talking about it.  I meant no disrespect to you or to any of the other excellent T2 players who have learned how to be successful within that ruleset.

It's all good prof, we still love ya.
Anyway I am still testing it I really like this one version, and I am pretty sure you will too, but just working out any minor ratios now.
