The probability of that exact situation would never happen. Of the 14 lost soul that he has in his deck, it is very unlikely that there will only be 2 of them out and that those two are 2 of the 4 that are protected. There are also other ways to negate souls or exchange soul or generate more souls.

Bottom line:

Is */4 better than having a generic LS? Yes.

Are there plenty of better options to use than the */4? Also yes.

I think that if you have specific questions on what souls to use, the best thing to do would be to make a new thread and list what souls you have available and ask for suggestions, but generally there are better options
