Some Type 2 deck advice needed for tournament.

I am going to a type 2 tournament (one on one and multi player)  in a few days and would like some advice or suggestions on my deck.

Last time I went to this tournament I remembered I faced a few top players with genesis offenses as well so I maybe facing a few type 2 decks with Genesis heroes in them this tournament.

Heroes 16

Benjamin x 2 (take out 1 ben card)
Joseph x 2
Rachel x 3 (just added)
Jacob x 2
Zebulun x 2
Coth (Wa) x 2
Reuben
Asher
Eve
Simeon (Just added)

Good enhancements 14

Joe before pharaoh x 3
Forgiveness of Joe x 3
Abraham's Descendant x 2
Answer to Prayer x 2
Reuben's torn clothes x 2
Well reopened
Obedience of noah (d deck)

Good dominants
New Jersalem
Sog ( J deck)
aotl
Goys

Covanents
I am Grace x 2

good fortresses

Wall of Protection (take out 1 wop)
Goshen (promo)
Storehouse

Evil characters 18

The Dreaming Pharaoh x 2
Potiphar x 2
Egyptian Magicians x 2
Egyptain wise men x 2
Egyptain Charioteers x 2
Pharaoh's cupbearer x 2
Uzzah
Pharoh's baker
Egyptain Archer
Egyptain warden
Potiphar's Wife
Spirit of Temptation

Evil enhancements 14

Egyptain horses x 4
Wonders forgotten x 4
Besieging the City x 2
Enslaved by Egypt x 2
Abandonment (TEC)
Failed Objective

 Evil Dominants
Falling Away
Vain Philosophy
Ship wreck
Destruction
Burial
Christian Martyr

(or somehow fit mayhem in here for the besieging the city combo but switched with shipwreck)

Curses
Captured ark

Evil fortress
Pharaoh's Throne Room

dual enhancements
7 years of plenty x 2

Neutral cards

Pharoah's Prison x 2
Egypt
Dragon Raid (promo)

Artifacts

Hezzy's ring
Darius Decree
Three nails

Lost soul cards

Hopper x 2
Female only x 2
N.T Only x 2
First round protect x 2
*/4 or greater
CBP lost soul
Lost Souls ( 3 liner)
early church lost soul (targets your hand ability)
Anti burial
Pigs
Revealer
Shame

Deck total should be 105

1.Not sure whether to add foreign wives or not because I did not face too many players that drew cards constantly but otherwise. Is there more searching then drawing cards in type 2???

2.  I only have one copy of failed objective even though it would have been nice to have a few more so I can not add 3 more.

3. should I add two */4 or greater lost souls because of genesis and new Jerusalem being played??

any suggestions?

I think it looks pretty good. I'm not sure I would use WoP x2 unless you know other people will be using Egyptian defense and you are concerned with them stealing your banding chains. Do you have a Grapes of Wrath you could add in?

I am Grace x2 might not be needed, but again it depends on what people use in your area. Personally I would probably drop one of them for an extra Abraham's Descendant.

I think Benjamin x3 is unneeded, especially since you can get him back with Rachel. I would go to Benjamin x2 and add Simeon who is amazingly good if you get him going early in the game before they have a lot of defense set up.

Demons are outdated compared to the meta. That's why I would take out three nails.

Jordan Alstad says Hi  ::)  But what does he knows about T2 anyway...

Add Stone Pillar at Bethel (artifact) to search your deck for any OT good card (the Exodus ref Angel of the Lord, you can even search for New Jerusalem which for some reason has a Proverbs reference). Or even something as simple as a well timed search for the right enhancement.

This depends on your play-style, but I would run 1 Judah and 3 Rachel because ideally you want to be rescuing with Ben or Joe, and they can both get them from discard pile (Rachel even from deck). After running 2 copies of Rachel in 2012, and then 3 these last few years, I would never go back. I've never truly had hand clog with her because I can always exchange one for Ben or Joe, then set the other down. She either gets a key character out or starts a 3 card banding chain. I would NOT, however, run 3 copies of Ben himself.

Red was always playable :)

It's not like there was just a new set with a few great characters and enhancements that just came out...

Well, demon defenses and demon splashes are fantastic in T2, and have been for years.  Genesis has very few ways to deal with them, and considering how well they have done (including this past Nats), it is very important to tech for it.

I would agree that Nails should stay in, and in fact would say that decks that don't carry demons should seriously consider it, no matter what is being played.

What about in T1?

Not as much.

Demons gain quite a bit of power in T2 because they have really nice generic characters, are capable of some awesome bands, and have access to (up to) three copies of Gates of Hell.

Why not?

The rest of his quote ;)

Basically, there are some really awesome abilities on demons, but there are only so many of those demons out there.  Now, they are also generics, so in T2 you can have 4 Wandering Spirits and 4 Spirit of Temptation and 4 Messenger of Satan and...so on.  Now you have really amazing banding chains going, some of which are CBN or CBI and it is really hard to overcome both the numbers and what is about to happen when enhancements start flying.  Then they come back with Gates of Hell...

In T1, on the other hand, you can only have 1 of each of those awesome abilities per 50, and only 1 Gates of Hell to support them.  I'd say that they are very viable in T1, but they have to be a large defense to work there.  Since T2 is balanced, that's not an issue, but T1?   Different story.

I was experimenting with demons in a experimental T1 deck, and it hasn't been working out, at least not against my mainstream clay deck.

Besides keeping Nail, I'd also agree that WoP may not need to be at 2.  Also, I would use I Am Holy, not I Am Grace.  And probably only 1 of that (though I know others like 2).  Also, Goshen isn't that great IMO, and I think you could make other adds instead.  Like a couple more RtC, which are fantastic with Jacob.

On the questions:

1. I would add her.  She's an Egyptian (though not Genesis) and she can get autoblocks against several deck archetypes.  Though yes, searching is more prevalent in T2.

3. I'm not a fan of the */4 anymore, and especially in T2.  It's just not going to help very much.

They can still rescue it with SoG, there are plenty of */4 or higher heroes to go in with, and there are 12 other souls in the deck.  Unless you use all of the protected souls or sites, it rarely matters anyway, but */4 is just not good enough anymore since it can be rescued by SoG now.

But what if you only have one SoG and two protected LS (say N.T. only and */4), which one does SoG rescue?

SoG waits until another non-protected LS is drawn to play NJ with it...

If this is the case where */4 or greater Lost soul is not as useful anymore , why not put a CBN on it??? :dunno: :dunno:

Well...that would involve an errata to make a card better instead of to fix an issue, which won't happen, guaranteed ;)
