Fastest defense possible

I have a combo offense planned that should win me the game the turn I get all the pieces in place.  However this might mean drawing all or most of my deck each game.  What is the fastest defense to accomplish this goal?

I'll just throw out the suggestion to include Vivvles and 2 Sabbath Breakers.

8 Sabbath breakers is good start, but that gives the issue of what else to run. literally all the other gray defenses are at the very least not slow, but most (except romans) are very speedy. I'd personally try out moabites, seeing how fast Moab is. plus free chump blocks with emim and king mesha. But if they don't work, Pharisees are always a good option.

Back in my day when Kirk Dennison was teaching me how to play T2, his combo decks would run a Gray/PG magician splash defense with Sabbath Breaker x4 and Divination x4.  And I think he used False Peace too (the ultimate tutor for combo decks).

8 Sabbath Breakers leaves you with another 7-8 EC’s for my build ratios. Pharisees x3, Proud x3-4, 2 more Pharisee slots. Pretension and you’re good. Or Messenger if Satan orange with Worshipping Demons with 1 less generic Pharisees and those 2 slots are MoS.

The challenge is actually getting blocks without Sabbath Breakers ending up negated... :P

8 SB
4 Messenger
4 Vittles
2 Damsel
2 Outsiders

4 Balaam's Disobedience
4 Worshipping Demons
2 Balaam's Teaching
2 Unsuccessful
Scattered
Abandonment

Holy Grail/convert offense to widen their good brigades ;)

Going a bit less all-in, my current T2 deck uses Moabites. Moab thins really fast - I usually had 3/4 of my defense out by turn 4, meaning that my draws tended to be offense-heavy.

Thanks for all the replies. That gray/orange list looks good.  Gray/Magicians also seems possible.   Definitely considering something similar to that.  The other main option that I am considering at this point is:

Genesis Egyptians

2-3 Dreaming Pharaoh
4 Pharaoh's Baker
2 Pharaoh's Cupbearer
2 Amalekite's Slave
2 Egyptian Magicians
2 Egyptian Wise Men
1-2 The Deceived Pharaoh

4 Egyptian Chariot and Horses
4 Swift Horses
4 Wonders Forgotten
1 No Straw
1-2 Besieging the City
1-2 Failed Objective
1 Evicted
2 Seven Years of Plenty (relevant neutral)

Or remove 8x Sabbath Breaker with Confusion (CoW).

Go ahead, use Covenant of Prayer to get one back...

The other option is to use 24 panic demons and your own confusion to remove them all, then you're just drawing offense

Except that would discard all the offensive combo pieces you need... ::)
