I do not think the defense pairs well with the offense. Genesis is supposed to attack first turn, create lost souls, and win by turn 10. You should max out your top battle winners that CBN on Joseph and Benjamin. Drawing is definitely a plus, but I think your hero choice is lacking. Add another Benjamin at least.
Covenant with Noah- Out for Abe's Descendant
Covenant with Noah- ^
Answer to Prayer- Out for another battle winner
Abraham’s Descendant
Well Reopened- out for another battle winner
Brass Serpent- out for Benjamin
Who are you going to give them for your OoN? Majority of your guys would kill, or severely hurt you if you lose them, or you'd have to waste another battle winner.

Brutal assessment, but fair I suppose.

I feel like all the "non-double" Genesis Blue heroes I have are filler, no real rhyme or reason, but as a T2 player you understand how an opening hand of duplicate characters can set you back. Any advice on better pick of heroes? I don't really care about Zeb, so I could put non-gen heroes into the deck. Tribal Elder, Thomas...

I was thinking the same thing about OoN myself a few days ago. I hate passing initiative so I make sure to OoN larger characters, which is not hard to do with Joe and Ben (little hard pre-block with Jacob) and then play CBN kill. When I think it is safe, I'll OoN a Zed with my Jacob. You are right though, it's hard to use my current ECs for CTB.

Cov of Noah (activated) gets around DoU, Belchy's Banquet, Hireling, etc. It's a great anti-autoblock. Not sure how many of these I will see this season though. Thoughts?

I will probably pull the 7YoP though... just not that helpful. Brass Serpent is anti-Gates (Goshen saves, but doesn't heal).

For a deck like this run all Genesis hero's. This is how mine goes:
Asher
Rachel x1 I use one, but 2 is good too
Judah
Leah
Dan
Eve
Reuben
Zebelun x2
Benjamin x2
Joseph x2
Jacob x2

Cov of Noah used to stop these, it no longer stops DoU/Banquet.

I like 7YoP but yeah it's not a huge card.  The rest looks good.

Thanks for the help Mr. Hiatus!
Keep the ideas coming friends, I'll update the deck soon.

I'll be thinking through the defense a little bit. I want to stick with brown because 1) It's always been my favorite defense, 2) I pretty much have type 2 quantity of whatever brown I want and 3) I hope that Gib Tricks and Land Purchases (to Hormah) will get around a lot of the current meta.

Just remembered there is a new soul that gets back discarded sites, should probably get a couple copies with ASA floating around.

Hi Joey!  You offered advice on my T2 deck, so I thought it fitting you offer you the same.  For both offence and defense, I would try to stick to one main idea/strategy that works.  For me Genisis revolves around joseph and benny, so I would load up on 2 copes of each and 3-4 of joseph before pharaoh, forgiveness of joseph, and possibly reubens torn clothes.  Throw in 2 of jacob and rachael, 1 of all the other Genisis standards (simon, levi, eve, zebby, ect.) if there is room, 2 creation of the world, and 3-4 abes decendants.  if you really like rachael+jacob, then throw in a captain or 2 and put in 3-4 reubans torn clothes and obedience of noah (as long as you have plenty of EC to kill off)  Basically boil it down to what really works for you, here is my offense for Genisis if I were to play it in T2:

2 joseph
2 benny
2 rachael
2 jacob
1 judah
1 eve
1 asher
1 zebby
1 captain

3 forgiveness of joe
3 joe before pharaoh
3 reubans torn cloths
2 abes decendants
2 ob of noah
2 creation of the world
1 7 years o plenty

5 main doms
1 storehouse
2 cov w/ palestine

I would run this offense with Genisis egyptains similar to an assyrian offence (a bunch or achers ending with a guy holding egyptain horses to play wonders forgotten, 4 failed objectives, with baker and cupbearers for drawing and LS generation) and have in blue tassels to stop capture.  youll want something to stop writ and magic charms, so definately try to get in cov w/palestine

For defense, I like your idea of land purchace and horma, but I would use more king zed and dungeon as well.  i personally wouldnt use raiders camp just so that once you capture a unique character to their land of bondage they can't put another one in play, but i see the advantage to having it in as well.  i would not use high places either, because you will want to wait to play land purchase in battle so that you can add the horma to the LS they are rescuing.  ,ake sure to conserve you EC, because uzzah and king manessa kill themselves and youll be letting characters die for horma and ob. of noah.  if you plan on unising horma to the fullest, try to work in come more human EC (and find ways to get around philly outpost and nazzy) here would be my defense:

3 uzzah
3 king zed
2 king manessa
2 king amon
1 fowl spirit
2 complainers
2 jeering youths

3 dungeon
3 gib tric
3 land purchase
3 image of J
2 stiff necked

5 main doms
1 gates of J

Lost souls are fine although I wouldnt use the 2/3 liner and use more site-based LS's, here would be my neutral cards:

1 Chariot of Fire
3 Unholy Writ
2 Darius’ Decree
1 Stone Pillar at Bethel

1 Dragon Raid
1 Promised Land
2 Hormah
1 Golgotha

this comes out to an even 100 cards.  I like the defense you came up with, you always amaze me at your ability to come out with unique, fun, and unexpectidy powerful combos that i would never think of. great deck!

2 joseph
2 benny
2 rachael
2 jacob
1 judah
1 eve
1 asher
1 zebby- I think 2 Zebby's are well worth it
1 captain

3 forgiveness of joe
3 joe before pharaoh
3 reubans torn cloths
2 abes decendants
2 ob of noah
2 creation of the world- Personally, a Reuben/Dan mixed in with your hero's with Abe's Servant to Ur would, or take out the 2 OoN for 2 Abe's Servants.
1 7 years o plenty- I would take this out for another Captain

5 main doms
1 storehouse
2 cov w/ palestine

This deck will be going under a major overhaul next week.

I sincerely appreciate all the great advice and ideas, it helps a lot!

Two Possibilities on a Defensive Rework right now... Which is better to pursue and why?
1) I'm thinking about reworking the defense to use Gates of Samaria. This would highlight on the deck's already strong inclination to sites (Land purchase, Hormah, Site Recur LS, Well reopened). Though I love Gates as an offensive tool, it would mainly be used defensively in the battle phase. Omri would be a force to reckoned with! P.s. Double check - is it true that you don't get special initiative to negate a Gates that's removing you from battle (i.e. Joseph dying can't play Joseph Before Pharaoh on Gates?).

2) I would also consider making a more 50/50 Brown Pale Green defense that both capitalizes and focuses on Golgotha+DoU and Land Purchase+Hormah. I need an answer for Nazareth+CP, but maybe Joseph Before Pharaoh could do that. I could throw a hidden treasure in (probably should anyway with as easy as it will be to get Joseph out). 4 DoU, 4 Land Purchase, and some assist cards (Image of Jealousy). Manny2x is a must... but if I do this I may make my brown defense mostly King Amon (bronze laver as an outlet). Just noticed "Retreat" is an OT enhancement... lol.

The deck has been updated according to the advice on my offense and according to my more focused idea of site manipulation on the defense.

Because I'll be losing evil characters constantly, I dropped the OoNs out of the offense. I also raised the EC to EE ratio, and through in a late-game loop with DoU/Golgotha. I was so excited to have Messenger of Satan/DoU cycling with Tartaros until I realized that Tartaros says "WINS" in battle not "successfully blocks"... that poor fortress is doomed to failure, lol.

Well Reopened should probably hit the chopping block. It's nice to have a TC enhancements to thin a hand down for Zeb... mixed thoughts with the deck still "on paper".

Thoughts on Hidden Treasures? I meant to get one in on the last edit. I could pull Well Reopened and ______(evil) to put (2) Hidden Treasures... is two worth it though? what evil would I pull?

if you want to lose your whole offense to bad play. It terrifies me. :o A smart Philly/Canaanite player this season will include 1 or 2 JiP just on the off chance they could wipe an offense.

Are there any popular CBN EEs this season that would threaten "Creation of the World"?

Just make sure you play RTC off Jacob or Joseph b4 Pharaoh if they have already blocked and you should be fine. But your not going to see many ee that hurt this combo. The defense that hurts this combo the most, your right, is black, though black defenses these day usually don't play wrath or jip.

Joseph-Hidden Treasures-Creation-Jacob-Reuben's Torn Clothes... all preblock? dude...
I hadn't thought about RTC on a banded Jacob (pre-block), that's pretty vicious :o Thanks for the advice

Though carcasses/wrath doesn't really scare me, Joseph = JIP cannot be negated, so I splash one in my own Philly defense (Type 1).

Still a bit scared... but I'll be considering CotW with a little more confidence with the Jacob+RTC combo...

Ok so you go Joseph, Creation, Jacob, then RTC. Now any other hero you draw either keeps a spot in your hand, or you discard. Also you used your combo, plus a battle winner. It's an unstoppable combo for one lost soul for the most part, I am just not a fan of wasting battle winners, all pre-block. But definitely worth it though.

FYI - if you haven't played any other enhancement (like RTC off Jacob) then JiP interrupts CotW and only removes the green Hero and CowT, not your entire offense.

Also, Jacob allows you to play the enhancement, but if you play it on Joseph, RTC is CBN.

Really? I didn't know that. Why is CotW interrupted? This sounds like me misunderstanding a whole game rule problem. :-[
I thought CotW would be an instant ability and, thus, un-interrupted by JIP by the time it completes.

One of the things that ITB interrupts is the last enhancement played by an opponent (doesn't matter if it's instant or ongoing). If CotW was the last enhancement played by your opponent...

Although this doesn't bode well for me. The other two times I remember you and I not understanding a rule the same way you've been right. ;)

Gabe & Hobbit,
You have turned me from an opponent of CotW to a huge fan in less than an hour, lol. Primarily because all the things I thought "wrecked" the card aren't valid. I thought that interrupts only interrupted the last enhancement under special initiative/removal from battle. That will change a LOT of rulings from this guys, lol- thanks for coaching me along!

So... 1 or 2 Hidden Treasures?

No Hidden Treasures. The chances of getting your art, Joe, and Creation are slim. And by the time you do you have most of your hero's. Joseph with Creation works.

Though Treasures+CotW was mentioned, I had primarily envisioned the need to play Joseph before Pharaoh on an Evil/Neutral card upon attack/pre-block. Examples: Nazareth flat murders my Hormah/DoU defense. I could also use it to nuke a charmed magician or an active UW...
