Moabites

This is my first attempt at building a T2 defense, so if I'm missing anything obvious please let me know!

36 cards
CM
R&D
FA(CoW)
Burial
DoN
3x Sabbath Breaker
2x Ammy Slave
3x Moab
2x Balak
Balaam
Eglon
2x Emim
FW
3x Moabite Army
2x Orpah
2x Chemosh Worship
Lurking
Scattered
Overtaken
Death of Family
Idol Worship
2x Balaam's Disobedience
2x Balaam's Teaching

Reserve
Balaam
2x Unsuccessful
Overtaken
Fall of Man

Full disclosure: I haven't tested this (or any FoM cards) yet. Part of me feels like there are too many characters and not enough interrupts. That said, many characters (Orpah, Emim, Balaam with Balak in play) work as enhancement-less blocks, and many others get great initiative.

Moab is huge here. He grabs the others out of deck pretty efficiently as long as I can find him early (hence the three copies of a unique character). Balak+Balaam is also strong.

Curses are another big part. Moab, Idol Worship, and Army all grab them out of reserve to boost Chemosh Worship and Balak.

Any advice? Thoughts? Recommendations?

When there's a key character I want to get fast, I find myself putting 2 in the main deck, 1 in Reserve and then having 1 (if not 2) Deceivers in the main deck. That gives me an extra chance to get to that character without having to put 4 copies in the main deck (when I can only use one at a time).

I think I would try to get 1 or 2 Moabite Marauders in there as well.

I would say Balaam's disobedience x 4 however there is that risk of coliseum , the Strong Angel (ROJ) , facing silver brigade and the 2 symbolic heroes.  If you don't feel you will come across these cards often , then Balaam's disobedience x 4 would be pretty good.

Thinking Naaman 1 or 2 should be in there as well depending on how many O.T gray brigade battle winner enhancements you have in your defense.

Old school Job's Wife would also be pretty good with both Disobedience and Teaching.  8)

Good call.

I did think about that. My first thought was that A. I don't want to be blocking with Moab most of the time and B. I'd rather keep more curses in reserve for Idol Worship. That said, throwing a Moab and a BD or maybe a False Peace in reserve (for him to grab when he enters battle) is probably worth it, especially since he can throw a curse over to grab later.
After looking at them again, you're right on Marauders. I originally had them here and cut them for space since you can only take an opponent's enhancement; but since you can use what you take to exchange using Moab (or the offense I'm pairing this with) they'll be a good fit here.

BD is good, I just don't want to be overreliant on it if I run into angels. At least a third copy is probably worth it,though.
I'll consider Namaan, especially if I run his chariot too.

Updated list:

38 cards
CM
R&D
FA(CoW)
Burial
DoN
3x Sabbath Breaker
2x Deciever
2x Moab
2x Balak
Balaam
Eglon
2x Emim
FW
2x Moabite Army
2x Moabite Marauders
2x Orpah
Chemosh Worship
Lurking
Scattered
Overtaken
Unsuccessful
Death of Family
Idol Worship
2x Balaam's Disobedience
2x Balaam's Teaching
2x Naaman's Chariot

Reserve
Balaam
Moab
Unsuccessful
Fall of Man
Balaam's Disobedience

I'd like to fit the Ammy slaves back, False Peace, Namaan, or two more Chariots in. I might be able to go up to 39 evil but I think I'd prefer leaving it at 38.
I cut one Overtaken, figuring that even though it's a great card Balaam can recur it if needed. I'm considering dropping Idol Worship with only two curses in reserve, although it's still a battlewinner that helps future initiative and Moab can swap curses in if I'm having trouble finding value from it.

How does Idol Worship help future initiative?

Its -1/-1 statline. If I play it in battle, my opponent negates, and we have to check initiative again, the -1/-1 means that I'm more likely to get the next play.

Of course. I was thinking future as in beyond the battle it was played in, which made no sense.

Yeah, I could've worded it better. When I wrote it I was thinking that a lot of the time once one battlewinner is played, the battle's over one way or another - either it goes off or they negate and win.

I'd like to fit in a Paying Taxes as well, though again I'm not sure where or how.

I think you've gotten a tad character heavy. Without having potential banding chains, you're not going to be getting "value" from most of your characters (i.e. they're just going to sit in territory not doing much).

Also, I'm only counting 37 cards (5 doms, 19 ECs, 13 EE) at the moment. I think I would cut one Sabbath Breaker and put 2 more EE in those last slots (perhaps a second Chemosh Worship and Paying Taxes).

I'm counting 20 ECs, though I might cut the second Orpah as well (even though she's amazing with Overtaken) and take that suggestion.

I'm going back and forth on two Balaam's Teaching as well. On one hand, CBP AOE is great. On the other, having two is a holdover from when I was going to run more magicians; I think the slot may be better as a False Peace or another Chariot/Chemosh Worship.

Weird...I swear I counted like 3 or 4 times and kept coming up with 19, but now I see the 20.

If you could find a spot for Job's Wife, I'd keep both Teachings. Having both Balaam and Wife with 2x Disobedience and 2x Teaching would be really strong, but there's definitely multiple directions you could go and it's wise not to try to go in too many of them.

I'm not completely sold on Job's Wife - I like the idea of tons of FBTN but I feel like I'd almost rather just run a third Balaam. Yes, he's unique, but he synergizes better with both Balak and the curses.

I hinted at this on your other post but I would decrease the EC’s down to 18 and increase the enhs to 14. Personally I think you should do 17ecs15ees in a 100 card deck
