Could someone post me an awesome heretic type 2 defense and explain how it works. I have 5 wolves in sheeps clothing and 5 creeping deceivers. How will this win me any battles?

By protecting nt souls in sites from rescue unnegatable. All you have to do is choose the lost soul your opponent is going for.

I made a pretty good defense with Heretics. It was something along these lines

Crown of Thorns

Creeper x5
False Teach x3
Nebby x3
Nerg x2
Philitus

Nebbys Pride x4
BB x5
Imatating Evil x4
Wolves x5
Judas' Plot x2

Babylon x7
BBH x2
Marketplace

I know I had more but I cant remember off hand. It worked quite well except against disciples.

Ummm... You can't have Babylon x7. You are limited to 5. I played T2 for a year and a half with seven or eight of the same non-SA sites and never failed deck check until SirNobody pointed this out.

Since you now have two sites slots free, you may want to go with Pergamum x2 and make sure you have Color Guard x2.  That way if you site a Color Guard in Pergamum, at least your banding will still work even against Thaddeus.

You can run Nebuchadnezzar's Pride or if you want to go old school, Coliseum Lions.

I really don't know how Heretics would run but it looks like you just fill your deck with NT lost souls and protect them from rescue and then heal them with Wolves in Sheep's clothing.

Using OT enhancements allows you to discard them for False Teacher, so Nebuchadnezzar's Pride is probably a good choice.

I would say try a few different things and see how it works.

The thing is this deck gets curb-stomped by Thad "el Tigre" eus

I run heretics in my T2.
Granted i have only played two tourney games with the deck, but my scores were 7-0 and 6-0 so I think it defended pretty well ;)

I have yet to go up against DI, so that will be interesting. I actually think it'll run well. Thad has his weaknesses.

You can go tons of ways with Heretics. I started a thread about a Heretic defense earlier. Philistines with Goliath's Armor/Land Dispute is a great defense to go with Heretics. If they are not playing with purple, then d/c the armor's for False Teachers.
Creeping Deceivers x5
False Teachers x3
Philistine Armor Bearer x3
Philistine Garrison x2
The 12FG x1

Wolves in Sheep's Clothing x5
Midianite Attack x3
Land Dispute x4
Goliath's Armor x3

Satan's Seat x2
Philistine Outpost x1
Herod's Temple maybe on good?

Purple site x2
Sites x6-8

This way you are not just using the sites for Heretics, but you can potentially lockout. I did Midianite Attack over Nebby's b/c the deceivers band.

I see, I always thought you would use Belshazzars Banquet to die and save souls, but I guess you just kamikaze with creeping deceiver. I was wanting to know any glaring holes in their defense. What dominates them and why? BBTN?

Creaping Deciver's SA cannot be nagated by a character which helps against BBTN.

Boo Disciples! How would heretics fair against Captain or TSA?

They have CBN banding and LS protection. So if you have enough Heretics (and/or Sapphira) to be sure you won't lose, you can band them all in. If you don't have enough, then just block with one, and heal him later with Wolves in Sheep's Clothing.

In my Heretics defense, I use a small orange defense so that I can include 2x Destructive Sin. This along with Darius' Decree can stall Thad for awhile, and it has a side benefit of negating my opponent's WoP so that I can band to his EC's with my Spirit of Temptation to mess with his defense. My orange defense looks something like this:

Spirit of Temptation x2
Seven Wicked Spirits x2
Destructive Sin x2
Suicidal Swine Stampede x2--This I found really helps for times when you have drawn more LS's then Sites early on, you can clear the Souls, and when you start to draw them later, you'll usually have places for them. It's also a great way to get rid of your opponent's EC's with Horses. Band SoT to as many of your opponent's riders as possible, draw a bunch, and play this as the next enhancement to remove a good chunk of your opponent's defense.

The Heretics (well, Crimson) part of the defense looks vaguely like this (there may be a couple cards different):

Creeping Deceiver x5
Sapphira x2
Judas Iscariot x1
Wolves in Sheep's Clothing x5
Midianite Attack x2
Great Image x2--I found this works very well when you are coward blocking with CD...you block, protect 3 Souls, and then play this. You heal your CD with Wolves, and they lose all the Heroes in territory.
Christian Suing Another x2--The usefulness of this card depends completely on your offense. I use Job in my Heretics deck, so it's nice to be able to pit Job vs. an attacking Hero. Then they either lose if they're too small, or they give me initiative to play Job's Faith, setting me up for my next attack.

I might have a few more things in there, but that's what I recall.

Thanks for the insight! Seems like you have made an awesome heretic w/demon splash defense. I like the 7 wicked spirits thing. For some reason, I have never really played with this card. Does 7 wicked spirits negate wop for the turn? The question is, I exchange with one of your guys and want to band, why does their wop's ability not kick back in once 7 wicked spirits is not in battle?

No--just until 7WS's exchange SA completes.

Because the exchange SA must complete first, which means that the fortress interrupt does not end until the exchanged character is in battle, A character is not considered in battle until all of her/her special abilities (e.g., banding) have completed.

With 1/4 EC's you should not be giving initiative. Long as you don't slip up you should be good. Heretics can be mixed with anything. I like Philistines the best, but I also know orange goes great with them. Whatever mix works for you. Remember to use Wolves' in Sheep's Clothing to protect/heal, and Judas' Plot to keep their dominants at bay.

Which is difficult because you almost have to play it on James.  Any Heritics defense should have Household Idols for that very reason.

all very good insight. makes me not want to post anything...oh well. I like the idea of Darius Decree with Christian Sueing Another also. Darius Decree would also stop your opponent from playing Abe's Kid to steal your Wolves too.
This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

Darius Decree would also stop your opponent from playing Abe's Kid to steal your Wolves too.

That's the most important reason for DD. Another thing to keep in mind is that since you're using all the Di sites anyway, your Deceivers are pretty much protected from everything except banding and set aside anyway, so you don't always need them in your territory exposed to Abe's Descendant. What I like to do is play Wolves in battle, then discard it afterwards to heal CD.
