Title: Would this defense work for casual play?
Post by: stefferweffer on June 17, 2010, 12:25:32 PM
Whole idea behind this deck is keeping Household Idols active.  Let me know what you think.  Mainly I'm just trying to be a little different.

51 cards

7 lost souls -

revealer
lost souls 2 line
shuffler
NT only
Female only
Exchanger (very important lost soul in this deck)
first round protect

5 dominants -

son of god
angel of the lord
christian martyr
burial
destruction of nehushtan (In case Holy of Holies is active)

1 site -

dragon raid

9 heroes -

moses (starter)
ira (w)
benaiah (w)
the strong angel (w)
shamhuth (w)
captain of the host (w)
amasai the raider (to hopefully remove IOJ or DS on a battle challenge)
oholiab (to search for the Tabernacle early and Lampstand)
the magi (to search for Holy Grail and Household Idols)

9 hero enhancements -

chastisement of the lord promo (to build up numbers)
presented before the lord (to build up numbers)
covenant of moses
brass serpent promo (to save a hero with big numbers)
sword of the spirit (kings)
fountains of living water
shoes of peace (starter)
pillar of fire (starter)
standing in the gap (to protect Tabernacle mainly)

3 fortresses -

the tabernacle
the name of the lord (good because it does not take an artifact slot, and because my big number heroes keep their big numbers)
High Priest's Palace (to hold Unholy Writ)

5 artifacts -

holy grail (to convert big number EC, or Gomer, Uzzah, Naaman, etc)
household idols (the most important card for the defense of this deck, banding heroes cannot even enter battle)
lampstand of the sanctuary (keep opponent from playing DON on HHI or AOL on Enchanter)
unholy writ (to win one battle by capture)
magic charms (to place on enchanter)

1 curse -

captured ark (in case holy of holies is active)

8 evil characters -

prince of this world (priests) (immune to lone heroes)
phillistine garrison (immune to lone heroes)
emperor nero (immune to lone heroes)
phillistine armor bearer (to get Garrison)
seven sons of sceva (to get back Prince of this World)
the amalekite slave (to get another LS to rescue and search for an EC)
pagan priest (in case HHI is discarded)
enchanter (to play magic charms on, and to use Lying unto God or Torment with if I choose to return a hero to territory)

3 evil enhancements -

lying unto god (to discard captured ark or holy of holies or holy grail)
torment (to save an EC from AOC or something similar)

Love the Deck Stefferweffer! Just, take out the Tabernacle.

Lol.  Tabernacle (and Oholiab searching for it) is essential to put Lampstand in (which Oholiab can also search for), so that no one can play DON on Household Idols.

For a tournament it would definitely go in, but in our casual playgroup meetings I don't use that card (and several other dominants).  Thanks!

Lurking could be a useful add.

I like the lurking idea, to help with those "interrupt the battle" battle-winners.

Or choose the blocker, or fodder for Enchanter  :)
