Hey guys, I was trying to build a Garden Tomb deck on RTS today. Any suggestions as to what defense I should use? I was thinking Pharisees and Sadducees to kind of keep the theme going.
-
Ha, defense in type I. err sorry. hmm anyway. Sadducees are pretty weak, so I would go with just pharisees if I was going with one of those defenses.
-
hmmm ok thanks.
-
It really depends. Most of the stronger TGT decks tend to use a splashed theme (Disciples and/or NT Gold, generally), which doesn't often leave much room for defense. Pharisees are decent, smallish, and may add some much-needed speed to a TGT deck, especially if it's not using Disciples beyond John and Peter. Gardensciples tends to be slightly bigger, and doesn't need the speed as much, so a traditional standalone might be better in that case.
-
Uzzah Gomer KOT Haman's Plot, maybe a sabbath breaker. seems about right.
-
You're forgetting Slave.
-
So Pharisees, Gomer, KoT, Uzzah, Sabbath Breaker, and Ammy's Slave for defense?
-
Vitellus > Breaker in todays meta.
Or use both.

They were actually suggesting just Gomer, KoT, Uzzah, Haman's Plot, Sabbath Breaker, and A Slave.
-
k....now i just need to find some good gray enhancements for sabbath and vitellius.

People don't use enhancements with them, they just use them to draw.
-
Balaams Disobediance is solid. But you probably won't get inish with Vitellus anyways, so no use using enhancements.
-
true...since Vitellius #'s are fairly high. Not sure if I have Disobedience. I'll have to check. If so, I can use him with Breaker.
-
A lot of people will pass to Vittles unless they want to keep their hero alive, assuming that there's nothing to play. Balaam's Disobedience might be a good choice if you plan on using both Vittles and Sabbath Breaker.
-
The chances of a Hero not having anything to win a rescue is extremely slim. Balaams D will be a dead draw if only using Breaker and Vitellus.

Yeah, now I'm thinking more towards if one uses a couple magicians, to use Balaam.
-
Or User of Curious Arts, which gives him access to the Plot as well.

Realistically a TGT deck needs to be 50-56 cards. So here's what I would cut.

You have a lot of extra enhancements in here so I cut a bunch of them out. I added in Susannah and Lydia since they are great for TGT decks. I also added Phil and Bart for CBN protected banding and more characters to get off AoCp with. I also switched out some arts, TGT doesn't have much protection from capture so Tassels is a must (and it stops soul-gen too) as is Grail to help you use the pre-block ignore on TGT. Basically the changes I made help to streamline your deck a bit more by cutting down on fluff and centering it more on the power of TGT.
