"Your SoG is mine" deck

So I was thinking... If one were trying to make a deck where the primary objective was to discard your opponent's SoG, what would it look like?  Here's my attempt.

Cards - 50

Doms - 8
SoG
NJ
AotL
GOYS
Burial
CM
DoN
FA

LS - 7
3-liner
Shuffler
Female only
Wanderer
Revealer
Anti-Angel
NT Hero

Forts/Arts - 3
Holy of Holies
Unknown Nation
Chariot of Fire

Silver - 2
Cherubim
Primary Objective

Purple - 1
ET

Pale Green - 4
Messenger of Satan
Beast f/ the Sea (Wa)
King Jehoiakin
Confusion

Orange - 2
Seizing Spirit
Spirit of Temptation

Black - 3
Sadducees x2
High Priest's Plot

Multi - 1
Amelekites' Slave

Crimson - 19
Nebuchadnezzar
Nebuzaradan
King Evil-Merodach
King Merodach-baladan
Nergalsharezer
Nebushashban
Ashpenaz
Judas Iscariot
Astrologers
Swift Horses
Dream
Desecrate the Temple
Midianite Attack
Head of Gold
Carried Into Exile
Nebuchadnezzar's Dream
Nebuchadnezzar's Pride
Great Image
Imitating Evil

Goal:  Get rid of their SoG as soon as possible, then hold them off with a Babs defense.  I don't plan on getting 5 redeemed souls :D There are about as many combos as I could think of to get Confusion or Desecrate the Temple played as soon as possible.  Also, High Priest's Plot and Primary Objective can get it if they fail.  50 cards for maximum speed.

Thoughts?  I have no idea if this is the best attempt, or if a speedy deck would be better.

I'd pick 2 from the 3, confusion, High Priest's Plot, and Desecrate the Temple. Once you pick which two, make a split color defense. This deck with less defense, and a more refined defense too, along with 6 more cards to offense, as well as more cards to your offense that came from you trimming down your defense, could do very good I think.

The demons are in there just to get a Pale Green character in battle with King Merodach-baladan, who can play both Desecrate the Temple or Confusion when he blocks.  Probably not necessary...  DtT is definitely the weakest of the 3, as it won't work if they have even one artifact down...  But Nebuchadnezzar can CBN search for and play it, and it is CBN on Nebuzaradan against a turn 1 FBTN hero.  I need Amelekites's Slave and Unknown Nation to get the right evil character in battle to play any of my SoG snipers.  I'll see if I can come up with something more creative.

Updated with a new name that better personifies the deck.  I'm not motivated enough yet to try and update it to something more effective  :)

Why wouldn't you go for 5 ls when your captures can destroy any-non orange defense?

Btw: You need Axe and set fire or Jerusalem's tower will shut this down.

Torment could be useful to clear the way for desecrates the temple. Captured ark seems like a good add also since you are using a crimson defense.

For defense, Switch the Babs. For Egyptians!!!!!!!!!!! They are much better for deck destroy. And, add more Hero's and Enhancements. I do not think this deck would dp so good without that. What is your opponent already has SOG in his hand? And, you might not be able to get to there SOG before they do, especially if using speed.

Discarding the top card of deck is not a very guaranteed way of taking out their SoG, even if it is done a lot.  Confusion or an early-game Desecrate the Temple are MUCH more likely to work.  And if SoG is in their hand...  that's why High Priest's Plot is in there  ;)  Unknown Nation and Amelekites' Slave can bring in the EC I need to match my enhancements.  Merodach-baladan can play BOTH Confusion and Desecrate the Temple when he enters battle - that's why I have Messenger of Satan to band to him.  Nebby can search for DtT and add it to battle.  DtT is CBN on Nerg and Nebuzaradan.  And Dream and Swift Horses give me a chance to play enhancements when I normally wouldn't be able to.

I'm still not sure what I want for the offense.  At this point, the deck constraints I want to work with are 1. Play with a heavy defense that is designed to play Confusion and/or Desecrate the Temple and 2. Make it 50 cards so that I can get these out as soon as possible.  Not quite sure yet what the best offense would be for this...  I thought about Genesis abuse of Asher/Jacob/RTC/OoN, but I really like the idea of putting in Primary Objective.  And I LOVE RR's suggestion to use the Bab's enhancements that target humans to target some of my opponent's Evil Characters.

I would add Mayhem. If they get SoG early, Mayhem would be a good way to return it to deck. And it's really good in many other situations as well.

One possible way to use HPP right away is to throw in High Priest Annas and Proud Pharisee. That way, along with the High Priest, you can use Urim and Thummim to see if they have SoG in hand. Then when they attack, block with Annas, band to Proud Pharisee, and play HPP. Most people who see a Sadducee block with initiative will play SoG before they give you init. This play doesn't allow them the chance.

Merodach-baladan can play BOTH Confusion and Desecrate the Temple when he enters battle

His ability says "crimson enhancement," so that is not correct.

At Nationals 2008, I used a deck with a similar concept, except it had no offense.  It was 63 cards, and included cards from about 5 evil brigades.  I used it in 5 games.  Nobody managed to get 5 LS against it, though I often didn't manage to completely lock them out.  If you're running a huge defense, The Bronze Laver is an amazing card.  I would definitely suggest using it.

(That deck would probably not work well in the current metagame, even directly after 2008 Nats I knew it was done for, if only because of TGT, but there are a lot more cards now that counter multi-brigade defenses.)

Using a deck like this is amazingly fun, especially if annoying people is enjoyable for you.
