It doesn't look like its fast enough to win on a regular basis, in my opinion.

It has Reach, Book of Hozai, Book of Jashar, Pentecost, Words of Encouragement, not to mention it's a 50 card deck. The only problem I see is them getting lucky and not drawing any lost souls, or playing with sites and me not being able to get my access.

How could I make it faster? Other than putting in the green. (Hur, Joanna, Provisions, Gifts of the Magi)

Hm, Love at First Sight never even crossed my mind, good idea.

Kirk, I'm pretty sure I can get around a beastly defense considering I'll be attacking right out of the gate and most defenses need a couple turns to set up.

Mehh, shouldn't matter. TGT isn't my only offense. There's also just the banding with Abe's Servant to Ur, along with King Amaziah, Obedience of Noah, AOC promo, He is Risen, etc.

And I might not be able to find one... lol  :P

I'm saying that from the perspective of my deck that beasted your offense last year at regionals.  ;D  That deck had 12 Evil Characters in 56 cards, so it is hard to beat it even early....  I am not saying that as a slant against your good deckbuilding (exibited here), I am just a little biased towards my defenses I that eat decks alive.  ::)

First Fruits might help...
Gates of Hell is by far the best card in the game.  No questions asked.

Hey now. I do believe that I went on to win Type-1 2 player that regionals, thank you very much.  ;) And I wasn't using as big of an offense. That deck was 50 cards, strictly speed, with a banding stand-alone defense. It basically comes down to luck. Aaron used an offense similar to mine and I do believe that he ripped through your defense due to you not drawing anything useful.  :P

Others seem to agree that luck is an important factor (see below).  I don't believe in "luck", but I agree that at the very top levels of Redemption, games are decided more by the draw than anything else.  If BrianGabe and DaClock are playing in the final game of Nats, the winner will have drawn better.  If Sir Nobody and RedemptionCousin are playing in the final game at Nats, the winner will have drawn better.  These guys, and Captain Kirk, Lawfuldog, and Aaron are all at the very top.  They consistently beat other people, but when they face each other, it just comes down to who drew better.  You can say, "well then build a deck that draws better."  But they all do this already, so it cancels out.

"The lack of a cost to playing a card has lead a game where the winner is determined by the luck of the draw." - TheraxC
"T2 is very luck driven, my ANB deck proves that, as is T1" - TheKarazyvicePres
"There will always be a measure of luck involved in Redemption.  That being said, I gave up playing T1 this year just for the very reason that I could (and did) lose a game in the first three turns." - STAMP

The draw will certainly play a factor in some games, but when two top players face off it will more often come down to who makes the biggest (or most) mistakes.  Too often the draw gets blamed because players are keen enough to realize their mistakes or humble enough to admit when they make them.

For the record, I really, really, really wanted to get 4th place in T1 2p, so I had to do what I had to do to ensure such a placing.  It was all part of the plan to showcase that 4th place trophy next to the 4th place trophy I proceeded to get at nationals.

My guess is that in a game with you and Maly, neither one of you is going to make a mistake.

I agree that at the lower levels (like me), mistakes cost people the game.  But at some point you have 2 people playing a flawless game with equally great decks, and at that point the deciding factor is only the draw.

That's a myth about top players.  They make mistakes too (even when playing one another). ;)  Usually, just not as frequently as the "average guy".

*edit*

Don't mean to hijack your thread.  That's one tight deck already.  I don't think there's much to change except maybe add First Fruits and/or Love at First Sight if you need more Speed.

To be honest, the game was so short I didn't have time to remember who I was playing.   :D

I added in Love at First Sight and played a few games with it. It worked fairly well, it won 5-1/5-2 every game. It's not a deck I would play in a tournament though. (mostly because I'm more of a Type-2 player now) I prefer my heavy defense decks, the games are usually more interesting and requires more thought process of what to play next, and makes it less of a race to Son of God.

LOL @ Mark, I don't know why you would put me in with Gabe, Maly, and other National champions. I've played for a long time but I don't think I'm as good as a lot of those players.

DaClock, if you averaged your rank in T1-2p at Nats for the last 4 years, I'm guessing there would be less than a handful of people with a lower number.
