With Job and Judas being usually annoying to kill and other tools around, this deck has proven versatile and annoying, but I haven't played it a ton. I also don't have many of the newest cards. I'd heartily welcome any advice about how to make this deck better, or what newer cards would be advantageous.

One of your biggest fears will be ASA, who can CBN knock out DnA.  Wall can be a liability with Goliath, but it's not really that useful to you.  Try removing it for the new Belshazzar.

Sorry, I'm a bit disconnected on the latest terminology. I assume ASA is Assyrian Siege Army. And I agree, that is a problem. Are there any cards to protect set-aside fortresses?

I'm not sure I understand this: "Wall can be a liability with Goliath, but it's not really that useful to you."

I haven't had the misfortune of facing the new Goliath yet, but does my Wall of Protection really stop me from replacing my own Hero? Neither the text nor play as of Wall of Protection seem to indicate that to me, so I feel like I'm missing something.

King Belshazzar can search for one artifact of mine that I couldn't reuse anyways, and band to one specific EC I have. Why is that an improvement?

I'm not sure I understand this: "Wall can be a liability with Goliath, but it's not really that useful to you." Goliath returns all heroes in battle to territory & gives the opportunity for a new hero to attack. Wall, however does not let the hero enter battle.

He can recur Belshazzar's banquet, which is one the best Crimson enhancements. I'd take out Wall and something else for Belshazzar & his banquet.

1.) Not that I know of.  You're best off taking down ASA before putting DnA down.
2.) Wall protects your characters in territory from being added to battle by opponent.  Goliath (used by your opponent) is adding a hero to battle.  There's not much in the current meta that will band to your characters anyway.
3.) He also recurs his banquet, which I just realized isn't in your deck.  Whoops.

You could always throw in Protection of Jerusalem as an anti-ASA tool.  Logic:  If they are running ASA, then they are running Assyrians.  If they are running Assyrians, then you can wipe out their entire defense with Protection of Jerusalem.  Q.E.D.

Also, without Michael in this deck, I would drop Protection of Angels.  And replace with PoJ.

Does your hand get clogged with all those enhancements?

Goliath is a big-time liability for Job decks, with or without Wall of Protection.  I'd drop Wall for Holy Grail.

...PoJ won't wipe out all their defense if they've got Camp up.  Still, it's pretty nice.

PoJ only protects fortresses that are in play.

I don't think he was planning on using PoJ to protect DnA.  Rather, he's planning on using it to wipe out Assyrian defenses.  If your opponent doesn't have a defense, then what does it matter that your Job is slightly more killable?

Protection of Jerusalem is sort of interesting. On one hand, most of the time it's not doing much for me. The protection is really minor, especially if I'm taking out Wall of Protection. It's pretty sweet against Assyrians. But once they play their Siege Army, I'm  too late to save my Dust and Ashes, it'll already be gone. It's interesting, and I'll consider it, but the fact that it's usually useless is sort of a turnoff.

I'm surprised to see so much anti-Wall sentiment. I guess I just feel vulnerable to Gomer and the like when I'm un-Walled.

Thirty Pieces I rarely use, it's mainly an artifact (ha) from when this deck used to have Sadducees and High Places. I could certainly take that out for Holy Grail. Ark of the Covenant will already destroy a Goliath or Siege Army if they use them once (but once is enough for Army!) Holy Grail does keep Goliath in play, though, so that Armor Bearer doesn't just bring him right back.

jmhartz: I like your feedback. Michael may be a good addition to the deck. And you're right that it is occasionally enhancement-heavy. I once had I Am Holy in here, but I didn't like parting with all those cards. I would be happy to replace a card with Michael. (Or re-introduce I Am Holy.)

Belshazzar's Banquet: I already have several one-time or usually-one-time sacrifices (Zimri, False Teacher, Philetus), but the card is certainly good. (Sadly, it's no good in side battles in most cases, since it protects souls from rescue.) Is there something immediately expendable to include that and Belshazzar?

Head of Gold maybe. It's a decent battle winner & can help out your offense. However, you only have three babs counting Belshazzar.

Head of Gold is nice also. I'm wondering what good ideas of cards to remove are, though. Michael, Holy Grail, Belshazzar's Banquet, and King Belshazzar already want to join the deck.

Maybe I am Creator or Angel at Shur promo? also if you had a Chamber of Angels then that would give you a back up plan when ASA blows up DnA...

You could also use Jacob and get rid of him with Invoking Terror when Job shows up, but that means you will need some bab magicians(but not necessarily). You could also incorporate Head of Gold to capture your own guy also.

Attending Angel is another angel that could be added- maybe search for Coat of Many Colors?

I have much experience with Job as well as Prof. Alstad and Im sure he will agree with me when I say the hardest thing about Job is gaining initiative. I've tried Sent to Serve, Poison of Dragons, and side battles like King Reaboam. The latest success would include Gates of Samaria to decrease my Job(and Michael) 6/6 making him a 0/6 for initiative...

edit: srry didnt see IaC in above list...

RTSManiac is definitely one person whom I would consider a "Job expert".

Thank you Gabe. Nazereth also hurts the support cards I tend to use with Job decks such as Angel at Shur, Attending Angel, Angel of Warning, ect.

I like the idea of Angel with a Secret Name maybe making a debut in the list. Maybe with Gathering of Angels or Help from Heaven but maybe thats just my dream of a mono Silver deck.

Angel with the Secret Name (RA2)
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Silver • Ability: X / X • Class: None • Special Ability: Negate Sites. You may exchange this Hero with a gold Judge in your hand, deck, or discard pile. Samson has Site access. Good Judges cards cannot be negated. • Identifiers: OT Male Angel, X = the number of silver Heroes in play • Verse: Judges 13:18 • Availability: Rock of Ages Extended booster packs (None)

This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!
