Keys to the offense: Get Elimelech and David Asap to get offense rolling. Continually bounce David to get the cards I need fast. Ways to bounce David: Book of the Law, Famine in the Land, Rahab, Offspring, Preparing to Return, and Moabite Messenger. So many possibilities with this. Book of the Covenant gets YWRand Marriage Cov to resurrect my Ruth Hero each turn. Foreman, Obed, and Jesse sit back and watch while protecting and negating. Key rescuers are David, Ruth (nonmeek), Rahab, and Boaz. Kinsman and Reapers rescue as a last resort.

Harvest Season provides soul gen since there is no Hopper in this deck. Offspring and Your God are CBN battle winners off Ruth, along with Orpah Departs in reserve.

Defense:
Getting The Afflicted out with another gray character is key early to provide hand clog or hand dc early. Messenger helps to bounce my David to retrigger his ability next turn. Prophet, Breaker, and Vittles are easy quick draws for speed and helping to get scattered and/or scattered sheep early. And Naaman is great to convert to red and use all of the new Ruth enhances CBN as well! Daughter's helps to get RBD and Unsuccessful from Reserve. Bethlehem is nice to either CBP my Ruth heroes or get an extra draw or a negate if I reserve a hero that I'm not really using.  I'm loving this deck!

Let me know your thoughts! Side note: I can't take all the credit for this deck as I saw Gabe's version of this before Mourn and Weep was banned. I tweaked it a little to what I wanted the support cards to do in the deck. Thanks, Gabe for your Ruth playtest post!

I have a ruth deck build and I love it as well. So much fun to play! We have a lot of similarities in our builds as I used the decklist Gabe posted as a basis as well. Purchased a version of the deck Derek had put together before LoC cards started becoming difficult to obtain, so shoutout to YTG for the hookup!

Couple questions... Why aren't you using bravery of David? Against a single character or a single band (Only 2 characters) where the band ability is not CBN it's a guaranteed win. Are you not using Remnant due to not having it, or do you not think its important in this deck?

Bravery seems bad for the deck because the discard only works off one of your heroes (I guess two with Naaman) It's just a negate unless used by Dave or a converted Naaman

I did not feel that Bravery was a choice to make because there are so many other CBN cards in the new set as well as older sets (Devotion of Ruth, Loyalty of Ruth....etc). CBN meaning they are granted that status off Ruth. And I'm not using Remnant because I don't have it. I would most likely use it if I did have it....:) I would most likely replace Foreigner soul with Remnant.

Agreed! Converted Naaman would only get to use Bravery with any kind of immediate battle winning success. Naaman can use all the other cards that are r/w since he grants O.T. CBN status. Naaman is a beast in this deck. He can use gray as EC for CBN and also red when converted! He's awesome!

You could put bravery in the reserve to get with shared meal
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love I am nothing.

I could, but I still don't think it's worth putting one card in reserve to use on one character.

Ah, I get ya... Since David searches the deck for it, I use it and it never is a dead card in my hand. But, hey, you know your play style better than anyone, so if you don't think it works in your build, then it doesn't. I was just wondering the reasoning, as I love having it in mine.

And for remnant, I would definitely suggest trying to get your hands on it. I use hunter and between naturally drawing it or getting it via hunter early game (Turn 0 is fantastic), I pull elimelech from reserve to get a plus 1 plus search for Ruth or David. If you have other ruth heroes from your opening draw, it beefs up the plus 1. Remnant is definitely a boost for me in this deck.

I see your point with Bravery. I may try ot. We will see. And yes Remnant is on my wants list on my trading page.
