Title: Red/Canaanite deck.
Post by: Red Wing on December 24, 2011, 09:59:58 PM
Now that red is a lot better, I figured I'd try an all red offense. The defense is mostly for fun.

       Grapes of Wrath

   Falling Away
   Mayhem

Fortresses: 1
   Tower of Thebez

Artifacts: 3
   Chariot of Fire
   Ram's Horn
   Unholy Writ

Red Heroes: 11
   Abishai
   Ahimelek the Hittite
   Asahel
   David
   Ishmaiah the Gibeonite
   Jephthah
   Naharai
   Spy
   The Centurion at Calvary
   The Centurion at Capernaum

   Foreign Sword (Red/Black)
   Trumpet and Sword (Teal/Red)

Red Hero Enhancements: 8
   A Soldier's Prayer
   Ambush
   Battle Cry
   Bravery of David
   David's Mighty Men
   David's Triumph
   Freedom!

I would put "pride of Simon" in to get stone of Thebes back. I have played with a deck very similar to this (though I played my Red offence different) and I found this tactic very helpful.

Switch Devourer w/ Pride of Simon, Abimelech w/ Sisera, Ambush w/ Warrior's Spear, Naharai w/ Peter, Ram's Horn w/ 4DC, and the 3 liner w/ antiburial and I'd say that's good. :)

Maybe exchange Jephthah w/ Seeker and Harvest Time w/ Wash Basin for some deck discard fun with Warrior's Spear,  which gives you another NT hero, another way to manipulate the deck for Wash Basin, and another option to help against demons. It worked well for me last year. :D
why anti burial over the 3 liner? I've found the 3 liner much more useful.

I agree.  The three-liner can be very effective, but make sure to include the shuffler as well.

It's a personal preference. I only use the 3 liner if I have the Shuffler and/or Burial in the deck as well. You have neither, and I've found it to be more of a liability w/o those cards.

Then he should be exchanging another Lost Soul (probably Speed Bump) for shuffler, which should probably be in his deck to begin with, rather than take out one of the best Lost Souls in the game (though I would recommend Red Wing use 2-Line over 3-Line). Beyond that, I pretty much agree with the other suggestions Master Q made.
