Welcome to the boards! Good job on putting together a deck! Here are some general deck-building tips to help you as you fine-tune this deck:

- For most decks, the optimal deck size is 50-56 cards
- With that many cards, you will want seven lost souls and seven dominants
- It's typically best to have about an equal number of characters to enhancements, both on offense and defense. Usually around 8-10 Heroes, 8-10 Good Enhancements, 8-10 Evil Characters, and 8-10 Evil Enhancements. Having the approximate 1:1 ratio helps avoid hand clog (too many enhancements so you end up discarding a bunch at the end of your turn because you have to get down to 8 cards).

I haven't heard of Lackey.
Could you post a link please for me to give it a shot?

I also haven't had to much issues with this deck getting my hand above 8 cards or 10 when Tables of the Law is activated.
Haven't lost against any friends with it either.  I had just tuned it up a few days ago after not playing much for about 7 years.  This deck without the tuning I did in the past couple days was about 10 years old and undefeated.

Pretty much once I have a certain 4 cards in my hand it is pretty much game over for the opponent.  Only got that in the initial draw one time and the game was done against 3 other players.
If I can't get rid of their demons then I use Three Nails and make sure to put Moses into battle so that no demon is capable of blocking because the special ability would be negated.

If you've got suggestions for better cards to be put in it, please help out.

I was on here as beefstew and can't get into that account now so I made this one (I didn't log in for a couple years due to the army and there was a "cleanup" going on on the site to get rid of inactive members.

Yes I would totally recommend Lackey - so helpful for deck-building, and also you can play online against other players!  :)

As far as your deck, here are some upgrades I would recommend:

- only use special ability lost souls, and moreover, ones with abilities that support your deck's concept/strategies
- maximize your dominants (include as many as you have lost souls)
- use the newest version of Son of God (from the I or J deck), as it's a big upgrade with the negate added on
- check out, either on Lackey, Landofredemption.com, or threelionsgaming.com, the newest few sets as they have much more powerful cards than some of the ones you're using (although you definitely have some quality cards in this deck!) - those sets would be Cloud of Witnesses, The Persecuted Church, and The Early Church

Thanks for that.
I didn't notice the difference on the J Son of God.
I'll get that swapped out today and I should have more special ability lost soul cards since my cousin was done playing a while ago and gave me his cards which brought me probably up to 3,500 cards from the 2,000 or so that I had.
I've got 8 other decks that I absolutely know need work but I want to get this one as fine tuned as possible with keeping its size.
May even make a deck similar to this one as a type 2 with probably exactly 100 cards.

Ok cool. Invoking Terror is a really good card, especially with the new Moses from Cloud of Witnesses, so I would recommend keeping it in (it's better than Death of Jacob if you wanted to swap it out for that, as it's territory class and CBP).

Also, here's a question for you: how often do you pull off the Son of God-New Jerusalem combo in a game?

For this Decks strategy, I need Death of Jacob more than Invoking Terror.  I had that in there to even out the Evil cards and Good Cards.
I pull a lot of Sog, NJ combo nearly every time I play with this deck.
My other decks it happens from time to time.

The reason I asked is because with a 77-card deck like you have, the odds of pulling off SoG-NJ are much lower than a 50-56 card deck, unless you're specifically searching for them which it doesn't look like you are. I would suggest downloading Lackey, getting on there and playing some games, and letting your game experiences inform you what specific changes your deck needs. There are some really good players who are regularly on there - lots of lessons for us all to learn!  :)

Welcome! The best advice I can give you is get experience playing other people and the decks they've built. Lackey is a great tool for this. Learning strategies and why cards are good or bad will ultimately help you out the most and the best way to do that is to see decks in action.

Some general tips though.

Type 1 decks normally sit between 50 and 56 cards. That's because players want efficiency and consistency.

Almost every card in a deck actively tries to win a battle for you. If a card doesnt have the ability to directly make it to where you can win a lost soul or keep your opponent from doing so it usually isn't played. There are some exceptions for some support cards and Negate cards.

Character to enhancement Ratio matters. Right now you are really light on characters and heavy on enhancements. You need characters to win battles. Since most decks play many cards that actively try to win a battle (using cards that would get rid of an opposing character, etc) you can easily find yourself unable to rescue or block because they got rid of your options.

There are many good ideas here. Ultimately getting experience and seeing other decks and how they work are what will help you the most in choosing the best cards to use . Plus playing is fun so you can't lose just by trying.

Currently on Lackey I am having trouble with my deck working when I go to play a game.  It hasn't loaded to online yet.

I'm not really near a computer so I can't really get on to help but.

1. Make sure lackey is updated.
2. Once your deck is built in the deck builder portion and saved try to see if you can load the deck before going online.
(All you do there is new game then load recent deck and it should pull up the last deck you had open in the deck builder)
3. Connect to the lackey server using the instructions in the post for lackey. (I think kariusvega posted the link in a response to this thread)
4. It should connect and you should be good to play as long as other people are on. (There usually is. If not KariusVega nearly lives on lackey so wait a bit or type lfg lackey in the chat box that appears on the left side of the home page of the boards here. Someone will probably be able to connect with you for a game shortly thereafter.)
