I am finding out that I can no longer build competitive decks. I need all the help I can get. Tear this deck apart, put it back and maybe then I could have a chance of actually pulling out a win.

The "purely" part comes from the white brigade.

number of cards 54 currently

Artifacts 4

Chariot of Fire
Hezekiah's Signet Ring
Lampstand of the Sanctuary
Unholy Writ

Lost Souls 7

*/4
Anti-Burial
Female Only
N.T. Only
Revealer
Shuffler
3 Line Lost Souls

Dominants 6

SoG
NJ
Guardian
Glory of the Lord
Angel of the Lord

Christian Martyr

Fortresses

Kingdoms of the World
Solomon's Temple
Wall of Protection

Purple Heroes 3/ Enhancements 4

Ethiopian Treasurer
King Hiram
King Solomon (TexP)

AoC Promo
Great Faith
Reach of Desperation
Testing Solomon's Wisdom

White Heroes 3/ Enhancements 7

Lydia (G/H)
Susanna
War Officer

A Child is Born
Banner of Truth
Burning Bush
He is Risen
Joseph Before Pharaoh
Lost Coin Found
Moses and Elders

Brown EC's 9/ Enhancements 7

Athaliah
Foul Spirit
Gomer (TexP)
Haman (the new one)
Idoloters
King Zedekiah
The Jeering Youths
Uzzah
Zeresh

Crucify Him
Dungeon of Malchiah
Fruitless Tree
Haman's Plot
Image of Jealosy (TexP)
Korah's Rebellion
Mask of Arrogance

Multi EC's 1

The Amalakite's Slave

The deck is defense heavy (character wise) and I need at least one more Hero. It is a modified version of one I played (and lost with) on Sunday night. Help make this deck decent please.

I think if you should add transfiguration and ejilah in there. So epicness. I always play with covenant of noah for so many reasons. I think it is a staple. it helps w/ territory classes, place cards, and evil enhancements like death of righteousness and things like that.

Purple and white can be very good together.  There are several different ways to play those two brigades effectively too.  Here's a white purple offense that I used very effectively for about half of the year last year.

Offensive Artifacts
Chariot of Fire
Holy Grail

Fortress
The Garden Tomb

Site Access
Dragon Raid
The Ends of the Earth

Heroes
Moses
King David
John
Ethiopian Treasurer
Lois
Chenaniah
Mary the Mother of James
Salome
Lydia

Good Enhancements
Preaching the Truth
Reach of Desperation
Authority of Christ
Unified Kingdom
Words of Encouragement
“He Is Risen”
Cymbals of the Levites
Transfiguration

If I were to play it again this year I'd probably take out Lois for Suzanna.

I'd recommend more Heroes.  I would chuck the following cards: Banner of Truth, Lost Coin Found, Glory of the Lord, Athaliah, and Fruitless Tree.  I would then put in the following cards: King Lemuel, Holy of Holies, Widow, Jairus' Daughter, Words of Encouragement, Consider the Lilies, and King of Tyrus.

Also, don't play with 2/3 liner without Burial.  Bad idea.
May you prosper greatly!

He's large (11/7), he bands to King David (which is tough to beat) and he protects himself and King David from the first Evil Enhancement played in battle.  Also Cymbals of the Levites cannot be negated on him.

Remembering from when I was facing the earlier version of this deck, it seemed like you only made a few rescue attempts (which doesn't win you the game generally) so I think maybe defense-heavy isn't the best option. The suggestions so far for improving your offense are better than anything I can suggest. As for the defense, you didn't seem to have good character/enhancement combos most of the time (until you drew HP) so I think that was part of the problem. I haven't played brown in awhile so I'll have to dig into the REG to look at possible options. If I find anything I will certainly let you know ^_^

It's already been said.. but your ratio of Heroes to GE is off. 1:1 is a pretty good place to be. Cuz there's nothing worse than having a hand full of GE and no heroes.

I would also replace a Child is Born with 3 nails. CiB isn't a reliable enough battle winner, b/c Orange isn't that popular yet. It is a powerful brigade but it just doesn't seem like its played very much.

Gibeonite Trickery is a great card if you could find room for it. Shimei's malicious course and gomer banded to a high numbers would be a good battle winner. I also like the idea of KoT

I agree with the more heroes idea, working on that currently. Lost coin found can be used to pull AoC Promo out of the discard pile, that is it's main purpose. I would have put widow in but didn't see the point with only 4 purple enhancements, and not many of those are battle winners. (of course, I don't know what is a battle winner anymore with all the rule changes lately). Glory protects Solomon's Temple which is planned to contain Lampstand. The shuffler can do enough damage to the 3 liner without burial, for my purposes. All your suggestions will be considered though.

Thanks for the help.

You still have Moses and Elders to get AoC.

Glory isn't worth it for just one artifact, especially one that protects itself from DoN.

Widow doesn't need battle winners.

Widow doesn't need battle winners.

Why? I have never run purple, why is Widow so great? 3/3 and you have to block her with a low number EC. Looks like an inititive battle to me. If they have the battle winner then Widow is toast, if you can't stop it.

This is my biggest problem right now. All the old battle winners are mediocre at best now. Everything I knew about Redemption is poop now. (don't forget, I am back after 3 yr hiatus)

Widow is 3/3, she'll have initiative against a majority of blockers.  If not, you've got Reach to interrupt.  Widow is one of the elite Heroes because of her ignore ability.  She keeps a lot of standard Evil Characters out of battle, very strong.

Again, without battle winners, you can pick any ec with */7 or less and any of the enhancements that are immediate battle winners and it makes her deck filler. If you play against the decks I have been playing against, she will soon be discard pile filler.

With the deck I just played you with she would stop Garrison and 12FG, both of which are staples and very good blockers.

She also doesn't need to worry about King of Tyrus or Prince of this World.  Both are commonly used in top decks and staples in any orange defense.

I'm not saying I won't use her but it just seems to me that there are just as many EC's that she is no good against as there are that she will help with. Honestly, if I attack with widow, my opponent will not usually block with an EC that can't stop her. The only good that she does is if your enhancements can back up her immunity with battle winning strength. Just like my game with Sean tonight, I used the deck that Gabe posted earlier in this thread. I held my own and had him down 4-0 with Guardian out. I ended up with no heroes left, decent defense, and had to give him the game even though he hadn't won a single soul. There was not enough battle winners in the deck to sustain.

with Guardian out
Don't use Guardian when you play me.  Just a helpful hint.  ;)

I'm not sure it was the lack of battle winners that hurt you (you never even used AoC).  Not many people could come back from a Wrath of Satan that takes out 7 of their Heroes.  Especially when you are blocked from getting them back.  Both of us also had to discard a lot of cards early because neither of us was able/willing to attack.
May you prosper greatly!
