Title: Priests (Teal & Black)
Post by: Master Q on June 08, 2017, 12:36:41 PM
I haven't seen any teal decks in awhile. Made this recently, played a couple games with it (against a silver deck, which is what I wanted to test the defense on), and thought it was ok.

50 Cards
LS: 7
Switch
Lawless
Humble
Crowds
Imitate
Gain
Dull

Doms: 7
TSC
SoG
AotL
3 Woes
CM
VP
FA

Arts: 4
U & T
The Seventh Seal
You Will Remain
Covenant of Prayer

Forts/Sites: 3
Z’s Temple
High Priest’s Palace
Dragon Raid (p)

Heroes: 8
Every Tribe
Melchizedek
Joshua, the High Priest
Phineas
Dutiful Priest
Joiada, son of Eliashib
Abiathar
King Abijam

Good En: 7
Pentecost
Gifts and Offerings
Reach o’ Desperation
AoCP
Zeal
Trumpet Blast
Burning Incense

DAC: 1
The Seventh Bowl

EC: 7
The Deceiver
Scribe
The Sanhedrin
The Chief Priests
Temple Guard
High Priest Ananias
Alexander

EE: 6
Seize Him!
Plot to Kill
Tenants Kill the Son
Abandonment
Seized by Rioters
High Priest’s Plot

Reserve: 10
Eternal Covenant
The Silver Trumpets
The Seven Trumpets
Unholy Writ
Foreign Wives
Outsiders #1
Disbelieving Sadducees
Goliath
Emperor Claudius
Paying Taxes

One thing that this deck would've benefited from immensely is Herod's Temple. Disbelieving Sadducees and High Priest Ananias were killed by Grapes and AotL more times than I used Joiada's recursion with Z's Temple, so I could see that being swapped for Herod's Temple, and Joiada being swapped for the priest that gets CBI enhancements (Solomon's Temple Priest).

This is the first deck I've used that tried the Dragon Raid promo. I thought it would be great to negate souls since I have Mel for soul gen, but I was wrong. Soul drought for turns, no Mel in sight, and KoT to negate Mel when he did show up. :( Ends would've worked so much better. And the FBTN soul absolutely needs to be here to negate opposing Crowds souls for VP, Seize Him!, and HPP.

King Abijam was mainly to steal Ends and get initiative, but he's pretty replaceable. Probably switch with King Amaziah and add in the black brigade king he can force to block (the one that captures him).

This was mainly to try out Every Tribe + Mel, and they were great, but I'd wager they'd be fantastic in multiplayer. ;)

Thanks; Teal just needs something fresh to make it more competitive as a stand-alone offense. Perhaps since the last set was Angel Wars 2.0, this next set will be Priests 2.0. They follow each other, so it makes sense to me. ;)

King Amaziah plus Valley of Salt would be good I think.

Trumpet and Sword is also a nice reserve target for 7th Seal since you would still have 2 WC Heroes.

Is 7th Trumpet just a Ryan-meta call?  ;)

Hmmm, definitely a 2.0 but I don't think it's Priests. ::)

Women 2.0 would be cool!
