New Wine (Samaria)

This deck is currently 50 cards... awaiting suggestions... (57 might be nice to get FA back in)....

A couple of explanations I owe...

Deck Purpose
The "new wine" deck (I've made several) idea always centers around an NT offense allowing me to abuse Ashera Pole or Golden Calf. The defense enhances the Garden Tomb, in this case by using Samarias to kill off the right ECs in Territory.

Choice of Evil Characters
Keep in mind without Samuel, I have no reason to run King Saul. Jeroboam and Nadab fit well for several reasons. Jeroboam can pull out his Idolatry (for another turn) or I could discard him with Generous Widow to get Nadab recurring, etc.

The wave of CBN "negate evil discard evil" cards are hard to stop. Here's an attempt to slow them down:
1) Jeroboam's Idolatry protects from the first enhancement. Since the card is set aside, it should not be easily targeted for negate.
2) At least 1 "Herod's-Temple-Able" character because, with the exception of Joseph Before Pharaoh, the meta kill cards are all CBN discard

White ( 8 )
Susanna
Mary Magdalene
Mary Mother of James
Salome
Joanna
He is Risen
Words of Encouragement
Consider the Lilies

Gold ( 6 )
The Generous Widow
Woman at the Well
Zaccheus
Ambush the City
Meeting the Messiah
Repentance and Restitution

Evil Characters ( 7 )
King Jeroboam I
King Nadab
King Omri
King Ahab
Jezebel
Uzzah
Wicked Thief*

Brown Enhancements ( 5 )
Breaking Jerusalem's Wall
Gibeonite Trickery
Jeroboam's Idolatry
Stiff-Necked
Wickedness of Tenants

Other (10 )
Samaria 4x
Hormah
Herod’s Temple
The Garden Tomb
Crown of Thorns
Samaritan Water Jar
Ashera Pole

The Doms ( 7 )
SoG
NJ
AotL
Grapes
GoYS
CM
DoN

Souls (7)
Lost Soul (Female)
Lost Soul (NT)
Lost Soul (*/4)
Lost Soul (Revealer)
Lost Soul (Site Recur)
Lost Soul (Site Double)
Lost Souls (2-Line)

*Currently I have Wicked Thief. Reasons for using him...
1) As a 3/4 he gets initiative against the majority of heroes
2) He is another Non-Royalty to help against David
3) If they attempt to discard him, I can use Herod's Temple

Herod the Great is so powerful against the surge of FBTN-B I might pop him in this place. I've been owned my friend Zach's Herod many times  ::)

I don't think Wicked Thief will do you much good… Yes, he gets initiative, but what are you going to play? His numbers are probably too low for Gib Trick and none of the other EEs work well with NT ECs. I think Gomer would be better instead, although she can't use Herod's Temple.

And yeah, Herod the Great can be a beast.

OOPS! Good point on the Enhancements! If I was gonna use him I would at least take Wickedness of Tenants out for Korah's Rebellion (CBN w/Pole)

I'm mostly wanting something that I can surprise with out of hand against an oncoming Edict or Bravery of David. I wish brown had a random 10/10 brown NT human or something... then I could give them initiative and back up my character with HT. Basically I've got Angry Mobs to work with for another brown NT EC lol... Govener Felix is 6/8 but even HE is royalty, lol

Hm... other Human NT EC options?

You could also use the Cannot be Prevented Lost Soul for a CBP Korah's Rebellion (a killer against FBTN and artifacts like A-Pole are fairly easy to get rid of).

The highest numbered one that fits your description is The Rich Young Ruler.

Nice CJ, lol. Almost makes me want to run him just to say I had Rich Young Ruler in a Deck  ;)
