Cactus Game Design Message Boards

Hello, my name is Nathan Wilson and since February of 2009 I have been off and on the message boards starting my Redemption Collection and learning the game. I have had the help of some VERY experienced players (you know who you are  ) who have guided me in the right direction. With their support, some praying and faith in God, I have made a somewhat "starter" collection of sorts. Gabe PM'ed me last year about a kid who had remnant's of a collection that lived not to far away from me. Nathan Schiro and his parents and moved into Cheyenne, WY from back east. I contacted Nathan and not soon afterwords I purchased his collection to sponsor his mission. Thanks to Gabe for the PM!

I am going to list a deck that he used to play. Prof Underwood may remember this deck very well so i suppose he might just have a comment or two  . Anyway the deck is compromised of cards before RoA so it needs a little updating to include: RoA, TexP and Deciples. Feel free to comment but PLEASE keep it FUN and PROFESSIONAL!!!

Now, I know the lost souls need to be updated but I would like to keep the Red Warrior Class theme in Nathan's Honor!
The defense can be changed to a different brigade or brigades or left Grey but with better cards.

P.S. Since Nathan Schiro sold his cards and moved away he was the only one I knew in the whole state of Wyoming that played. I am the only one in Casper, WY that I can find. It's a little tough to play against yourself. And since there is no card market I am having to save my money and buy what I can afford. I am hoping I can get Redemption to be known in the churches in this area so we can start a play group. Also I have to convince the local Christian store to stock a little product so the people can purchase it.

I was thinking the same thing on the RED Hero's.
I am glad we think alike.

What about the Lost Souls?
Are they outdated?
What are the most common played with the new environment?

If you are successful in starting a small playgroup, but unsuccessful with finding a store to stock product, there are plenty of people here online (myself included) that can help you out with that. Keep us posted on how it goes with starting a playgroup. 

I do remember this deck.  Nate had 2 decks that he brought to tourneys, this one and a FBTN one.  I also had 2 decks back then, my regular one, and my anti-FBTN one.  When he and I met in tourneys it was always a guessing game as to which of their 2 decks the other person would play.  Good times.

As for suggestions, I would trade:

GOYS for Grapes of Wrath
Falling Away for Destruction of Nehustan
Holy Grail for Captured Ark
and the Syrian grey defense for an Emperor grey defense (I'll let Pol give the details there)

I also agree with Pol that Spy should stay in there.  Take out Raider's Camp to give him a spot.

Hehehe...yeah he still had the FBTN still put together as well. I will list that deck later but it is pretty strong still.

Are you sure you want to take out Raider's Camp? I thought it was good.

So...GoyS and FA are not staples that are needed for the deck?

I already have Holy Grail and I don't have a Captured Ark. (that's Nathan's FBTN deck)

If you're going to toss in Warrior's Spear, take out Mustering for War for that and take out Might of Faith and toss back in Spy.

p.s. Please let us know here if you have any problems/error messages when trying to install RTS because they're usually easy to figure out.

Grey plays a little differently then other brigades but it works very well once you get used to it

Or you could go more hand control with this defence.

I would like to maybe incorporate Scribe, Washing Hands type abilities to break site discarder ls and wrath to kill all my heros in a pinch.

On my offence, I need something that helps discard my opponents hand and can bounce back from Wrath of Satan quickly.

Honestly, he sold you his whole collection for a good cause I would think he would want you to make your own deck. Really this isn't his deck, half the deck has been changed. I would say come up with something you enjoy and know how to use.

It shouldn't be.
I could give you a whole bunch of cheesy sayings like "Be yourself", but that wouldn't do anything.
Just make your own deck and don't try to copy his.
Don't worry about making a perfect copy of the deck because there will always be new sets and new decks.
Also, I barely know anybody who didn't receive a lot of cards to get them started.
