My standard deck I play around with

Okay, so, This is a deck I have been working on. I recogize it is heavy on defense and capture. I dont have tons of cards, especially rares, ultra rares, ect. The generic dominants are the only ones I have. My question, is there anything I can get rid of and are there any more common cards (and more likely that I would have them) that could be included to enhance this deck? Yes, I know I need Isaiah. I have some pretty good teal or more silver that I could add for a splash but I dont know where to put it...

Lost Souls
generic lost souls
Shuffler
Woman only
(I dont know the accepted shorthand for the rest of these)
Dominant Discard
Place in site/opponent discard
Place in site/evil character on site

Dominants
SOG
J
AoL
Martyr
Burial

Artifacts/Curses
Holy GRail
Unholy writ
The silver trumpets

Sites

Jericho

GH
Aaron

On offense:

I am slightly concerned with your ability to rescue lost souls as you only have one explicit battle winner that is only cbn with one character. Moreover when looking to build an offense you should use cards that combat the cliche defenses. The cliche defenses use a lot of immunity and capture  to hold you off. So on offense you need a good way to stop Magic Charms, Writ...etc Green has a number of ways to do this chiefly in the form of Obadiahs Caves and Anna from DI. As for immunity baptism of Jesus, two bears, and Isaiah holding Call all can do the trick. Not to mention the fact that Call stops those pesty blockers such as TaS, Uzzah, and Sabbath Breaker. Some things to think about.

On the Defensive side:

Personally, the only cards I use in my defenses are the ones that are able to win battle and or do destructive things to my opponent. -=out +=leave in.

Possesed - Does not win a Battle
All Hope is lost- Does not win a battle, at max it shuts down one hero
Disuading Speech- Can be easily negated
Two Thousand Horses+ a good interupt that can set up Forgotten History and Dou
Achan's Sin+ Solid Interrupt and battle winner
Captured By Assyria - Battle winner but negatable, as far as captures are concern you want to go with the ones that cnb because capture is so easy to get around to begin with.
Forgotten History +Again solid cbn battle winner
Confusion + Not a battle winner but a possible game changer if you can nab sog
The tartan Attacks - Too conditional and it only kills heroes in territory
Stocks - see captured by assyria
Invoking Terror- Great card but if you want to maximize its potential you should use some bi colored magicians
Death of Unrighteousness + Great battle winner
Syrian Victory- Even though Baalam can use Grey this would only increase him 2/2 as he prevents special abilities on enhancements.

That leaves you with six enhancements, a good number. As for characters I would suggest adding more. Seven is a good number, nine is perfect. Some characters to consider would be:

The Rabshakeh, The Rabsaris, Assyrian Survivor, Assyrian Siege Army, Mannassseh, Damsel with spirit of divination, and eyptian magicians/astrologers.

Right now I don't see Asnapper, or Spirit of Doubt doing much for you so it would be good to get a hold of some of these characters.

Hope that helped.  :)

Greatful for the suggestions. I am lookling into getting some of those as I do use them on ROOT and honestly fair much better there then in reaity. I find that in the state my deck is in, solely based on current availability, a strong defense is my best offense. For instance Asnappar's ability to transfer captured character to opponents LOB makes for good Lost soul generation. So far, variations on this deck allow me to hold my own fairly well against players and I usually get 3 or 4 lost souls. I did have Abiathar in my deck at one point for the protection from discard abilities as well as some tteal enhancements, perhaps I should place them back in?

Yeah depending on what you have. I agree with you that a strong defense is best for you now. However a strong defense demands more characters than you currently have and less enhancements that are not battle winners. What other Pale Green Characters do you have?

Off the top of my head I can remember, The Tartan, The Rabsaris, King Sargon II, King Jehoiakin, there is a Herod in there I believe. Ill check more to see when I get home.

I have all those except Mannasseh but that would be sweet. I know that Dana has the Chaldeans promo and the astrologers she might be willing to give/trade me

Isn't there like a 1/1 Assyrian king that everyone uses to play confusion on? I really thought so, but I'm not seeing him in the REG...

Confusion of Mind would be a good add too.

He's not Assyrian...he's Judean/Israeli.  My spelling may be off, but it is King Jehoikan.

I have read this thread thoroughly, but a glancing over Hobbit's suggestions sound good.  I would add that your current ratio of EE to EC is way off.  You want your ratio to be pretty close to 1 to 1.  Making those decisions are some of the hardest decisions in deckbuilding.  Good luck!

You should add Que.

And make sure you have the enhancement that removes all cards in the battle from the game...

He will be protected  if you reveal your hand.

Unfortunately his protection is interrupted by Achan's Sin so he would be removed.

For your deck you need more EC and less EEs.

You are right about the EC my bad. Yeah I like having decks that are 1:1.

Okay, so besides the PG characters and enhancements I have in deck, these are the rest of the rest I have on hand.

EC
Absalom's Soldier
Prince of Persia
Nabul
Achan
King Jehoiakin
The Rabshakeh
Emperor Caius Caligula
King Shalmaneser V
King Sargon II
The Tartan

EE
Angel Departed
Consumed by Doubt
Glitering Spear
Hezekiah's Weakness
Lamenting
The Rabashakeh Attacks- In looking at that I should probably put that is
Disobiedience
Plunderers
Drunkeness
Hagar Dismissed

Just thought of this, in case anyone is wondering, the reason I play two brigades that can easily negate each other is that somewhere along the line my best cards that work together ended up being these. By far, these are the best cards I own

The Isaiah tin will help both brigades and create synergy between offense and defense, rather than discord.

The Isaiah Tin would definitely help. Two Bears is a great battle winner for Prophets as well.

I'm assuming that is from what you have?  Two Bears is a must.  I will bring an extra one to the next tournament Randall has.  I'm sure I can find something to trade you for it.  On another note, considering the size of your collection...it looks pretty good.

That would be great, though, I really dont have much of a trade stock.  I believe the next tournament we are planning for is a district in January. I also appreciate the complement :)
