My Son Beat Me!

My 11-year-old son reached a milestone last night by beating me when I wasn't using a starter deck. Although happy, he wants to improve his deck since it was a close 5-4. He wants to put angels in his deck, particularly Gabriel. Understand that this is the first deck that he has worked down to under 100 cards (and that's without doubles). Any suggestions are welcome:

You have to click the box in Additional options that says 'Don't use smileys' to prevent that because that sequence is the code for those smileys.

You've got z-Temple listed twice by mistake.

I would continue to try and get it smaller.  Some card that I think could be taken out are: Unknown Nation (only 2 humans), Phinehas' Spear, Grain Offering, and Covenant with Palestine.  Those don't seem to be essential cards for winning.
May you prosper greatly!

He had Covenant of Palestine for two reasons: 1) to stop my capture defense; 2) to give King David an enhancement when necessary.

He had Unknown Nation to get his emperors when he needed them.

As for the others, he seems okay with losing those. As you can see, no matter how much I try to drill "initiative," he still likes the big numbered guys.

He's got three interrupts so the big numbers isn't too bad, but some low numbers could also be of help.
May you prosper greatly!

A shout out to Kirk, by the way. During the game, I commented on a nice decision he made in the middle of a battle. He said that Kirk was a "good teacher." He only met Kirk once at a non-tournament gathering, but the impression has remained.
