Looking for a reliable defense with my T1 Deck

After months of hibernation I finally got my redemption cards out to plan for the new tournament season. Since the new starter decks are not being released late, I'm going to resume playing with last years deck.

I would like to find a new defense that will accommodate my FBTN offense. I'm starting out fresh because the previous attempts at making a defense always seems to fail when the game is close towards the end. Nothing fancy just a solid defense that I can use to block attacks from popular based decks. Anyone have ideas where to start?

Hey man I think the best thing to do is expirement with some of your own ideas currently I don't think there is a meta defense. I would however take a look at "The Deck" and try to build a defense that can hold up against that.  It is a very fast very strong offense with a drawing defense capable of getting 2-4 blocks if things fall right for  "The Deck"

Many times only 1 or possibly 2 blocks are needed for "The Deck" to win a game

20. I'm going to be using this deck for a category called "type 3" where the offense and defense have the same number of cards. I've tried a lot of different combinations, so anything that could benefit me would be appreciated. I get tired of using stand alones.

I'm still a very newby deck builder in redemption, but do have a few years experience in other TCGs, and with our limited collection a few things I have found are a fun solid defense are:

1) trying for low abilities on the ECs to gain initiative and then using capture or destruction cards (e.g. Seige paired with King Zimri or Deceit of Sapphira is fun, Wrath of Satan also works, different Archers are also useful)

2) Along similar lines, using low EC abilities to gain initiative and using lots of discard cards to gain card advantage on your opponent is also fun (there are some cards that even let you look at an opponent's hand and choose a card for them to discard)

3) The other thing that has worked is using larger ECs that are immune to things and/or backing them up with various negates and interrupts in preparation for anything an opponent may play when they gain initiative.

Hope some of that is helpful, God bless.

If you weren't using FBTNB I would totally go a HHI defense but unfortunately that won't work to well for you. The problem is right now to counter the meta you have to either play the meta or play a straight up counter and running in between is very difficult.

However in T3 "The Deck" won't really be available so you can afford to go maybe a mono color such as Babs.
