Looking for a safe bet deck

Is there a type of deck that you would label a "Safe Bet" deck? One that would win 65+% of the games that it is used in, barring too much user error?

Thanks

One that is easy to get and not to hard to make is judges offence, and almost any defence, though I run them with canaanites.

Disciples and an NT offence is also a good bet.

I'd say drop James and run 10 disciples

For sure
My Lord and My God
Authority of Christ Promo
Passover Hymn

Possibles
Pentecost
Reach of desperation
A New Covenant (Cov/enhancment)
Raising Lazarus
A new commandment
Faith as a Mustard Seed

Probably want to run DoN as well to deal with things like Darius Decree, CwD, confusion of mind

Probably smart to pair with a NT Defense and have herod's temple. Lampstand maybe if you want to use DoN

Just some basic disciples thoughts

I like using a Persian defense with Disciples. Persian Presidents with Raider's Camp active is a lot of fun, since you can capture your own Disciples while they are in the Fishing Boat.

Angels are pretty sturdy.
I think that everyone starts out with angels, and than realizes how slow they are. They can be fast, but not just solid angels. The best "Sturdy deck I believe is Genesis Offense, and than hand control defence, it won nationals.

They can be really good, but it takes a lot of high end cards like Michal, and some rarer enhancments to actually be extreemly competitive, with his 65% ratio he wanted.

I like the disciples deck, but I worry about the lack of firepower beyond My Lord and my God and Authority of Christ. My offensive enhancement choices were:

My Lord and My God
Authority of Christ Promo
Authority of Peter
Passover Hymn
Pentecost
Reach of desperation
A New Covenant

I am worried about the lack of firepower on offense. There does not seem to be many reliable enhancements beyond AOC and My Lord and my God. Are there enough battle-winners?

You don't need the fire power from Enhancments, Thad plus John and Peter with TGT should be enough if your fast enough.

Magicians or Phillistines I have seen most run with Disciples, though I have never actually done it.

I certainly hope so, since they are together in the new starter decks.  ;)

But then you use Razor and Forrest Fire and you are good.  And if you are playing Isaiah, there is a good chance that you have ASA.

Also, AotL and Grapes are standard in any deck that has TGT.

Angels are pretty sturdy.

Straight angels are far too slow to work well, and they don't have a whole lot of powerful abilities or powerful battlewinners. You're pretty much stuck with Michael with Angel's Sword, Captain of the Host, and The Strong Angel and a small handful of good enhancements. Not worth the time to experiment with. They work wonderfully as a support brigade though, and most top-tier decks will use at least one or two.

The best "Sturdy deck I believe is Genesis Offense, and than hand control defence, it won nationals.

They can be really good, but it takes a lot of high end cards like Michal, and some rarer enhancments to actually be extreemly competitive, with his 65% ratio he wanted.

Genesis isn't innately sturdy. It was piloted by a top player, built by the best player in the game, and was meant to target a specific meta. It's an excellent deck, but needs to be built (or netdecked) and piloted by a top player to see any success, and I don't believe it will be nearly as effective this year. For me, Genesis is a pass.

I am worried about the lack of firepower on offense. There does not seem to be many reliable enhancements beyond AOC and My Lord and my God. Are there enough battle-winners?

In the current meta, enhancements are really more of a backup plan than anything else, and this is especially true of Disciples. Most top players piloting a Disciples deck are likely going to rely on Thaddeus and John (with TGT) to make their rescues, with Herod's Temple on backup. Running a few battlewinners is necessary, but in my opinion, you don't need more than AoCp and MLaMG (with Passover Hymn) to win.

Magicians or Phillistines I have seen most run with Disciples, though I have never actually done it.

The last time Disciples was a serious part of the meta was in 2011, and a lot has changed since then. Philistines, as Josiah mentioned, are essentially dead in the water right now, though Magicians might be up to par right now. Pharisees are likely going to be the most popular defense this season, as they were last year. Disciples has synergy with just about everything, but NT defenses especially, since Herod's Temple is critical to Disciples' success.

But then you use Razor and Forrest Fire and you are good.  And if you are playing Isaiah, there is a good chance that you have ASA.

Isaiah is used in most OT splash offenses, and I think the general consensus right now is that Assyrians aren't worth it, despite some really neat abilities. At any rate, planning a strategy around trying to take out Nazareth is risky at best.

What color defenses are considered fast?

I doubt anyone will argue that grey isn't the fastest defense right now, at least while maintaining overall integrity. Magicians, with a little luck, can be incredibly fast if piloted by a skilled player as well.

Also, AotL and Grapes are standard in any deck that has TGT.

I'm not aware of any top player using Grapes in any deck right now. My current deck is Disciples with a heavy emphasis on TGT, and it's simply not worth it to me. There are better ways to thin out evil characters without using up those incredibly valuable dominant slots.

I play a Judges/Canaanites deck, and Grapes is a free block or a free rescue attempt. I use Lot's wife to band to an opponants evil character, and use Grapes, or I use it when my angel with the secret name is in battle, and he has Wheel within a wheel on him, it is practically a free attempt, unless they have a protected evil character in battle. I would use it with any deck that has a really good banding evil character, or any deck that uses Wheel within a Wheel.

Grapes specifies "opponent's dominants," meaning Wheel Within a Wheel won't protect it the way you seem to think. I'm not saying Grapes is a bad dominant, but for most people I talk to, it's simply not going to end up one of the seven. jmhartz's assertion that it's a staple in TGT decks is simply not true.

Saying "staple" is going too far, IMO, but it can definitely end up one of the seven.
