Large banding defence

I know the typical winning decks are offense heavy but I get bored of that.

So I'm thinking of using some of the common splash banding defence but expanding it to maybe 30-40+ cards in a 56-63 deck.  Can it hold out long term?

Wandering Spirit, Spirit of Temptation, King Manasseh, Gomer, Lot's Wife, Lying Spirit, Messenger of Satan, Beast from the Sea, Fallen Angel, Nebbechadnezzar, Archers of Kedar,

others?

giants? Assyrians? creeping deceiver? Herods? Persians? Egyptians? Syrians? Pharisees? Saducees?
any I'm missing?

I want it to mainly be banding characters but some support cards will be included:

Gates of Hell, Gates of Jerusalem, King of Tyrus, 7WS, 7sons Sceva, Balaam, Confusion of Mind,
Wall of Protection, 2+ sites and guard ls,
others

Unknown Nation? Besieged? Lurking? Midianites Attack? Shimeis Curse? Mask of Fear? Sapphira? Ananias? Antiochus? Namaan/Nergal with banding enhancements? King Rezin/Potiphar with sites and banding enhancements?  High Places with the cards that increase evil numbers (good against Thad), 30 pieces?  Satan's Seat? territory protection?

What are the biggest weaknesses for this kind of defence?
What offence would pair well with it?

P.S. I just read the March Madness thread (after I had this idea) and I don't know if others noticed but much of this list matches the top evil characters and can easily be used together, whereas you really can't use most of the heros together very well.

The issue with heavy defense isn't the defense. It's fitting in the offense.

The focus here is the defense, not the offense.

I looked at the deck which seems not bad, but I want to try focusing more on the banding/numbers aspect.  So I wouldn't use Wrath of Satan.  Not sure about throwing in a few standalones: Uzzah, Garrison, Prince, Trembling Demon, etc.

I would also like to have more character to enhancement/deck ratio.  A few enhancements to support is fine but I don't want much more than that.

WS, Gomer, King Manassachussets, SoT and KoT for starters.  Other big bands include the Brown/Orange Persians, and a bit of demonic Greekery.  These are all orange, so Gates/Laver will speed your deck up.

That's cool, I was just tossing out an example I have.

Alex's deck is a prime example of good defense.  Banding just doesn't have the oomph.

It's not that banding doens't have oomph. My deck actually used banding consistantly to block. He just needs to make sure to include pseudo-enhancement blocks like HT, UN, GoH to add demons to battle, etc.

Right.  I saw a deck that tried to depend entirely on banding, and it failed.

Banding is probably the best ability in the game for defense. You just have to have the right support.
