I'm building a type 1 deck and will be using crimson as my bad guys. I am hoping you can give me some good advice a.e. how many dragons should I have(7 to 8?) and who would you recommend?
Your advice is always greatly appreciated, provided I never face you in a tour

There's heretics and babs, but neither will do you much good.

If you're using Prophets on the offense, Babylonians are your choice. If not and you are an exceptionally skilled player, Heretics are your choice. If neither of those apply, don't use Crimson.

I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

These guys are answering you from the perspective of being competitive at high level tournaments. From your original post I'm not sure that is your intention. If you just want a defense that will do well and is cost effective to build, crimson can accomplish that very well.
King Zimri
Red Dragon (G)
Sapphira
Gomer (Wo)
Leviathan
Nebuchadnezzar (TeP)
Ananias
Archers of Kedar
Judas Iscariot (Ps)
Nebushasban
Fallen Angel (Wa)
King Merodach-baladan
I would choose 7-8 of those based on what you have in your collection and the enhancements you have available to use with them.
