Title: My Turtle Project...
Post by: Warrior_Monk on September 18, 2011, 01:35:01 AM
I figured it'd be easier on here than in Word. If you're spying on me in the Who's Online section, you really don't need to bump this...just PM me ideas...

The offense is fine. I really can't think of anything that could stop it that's mainstream. I almost have too much support for it. I obviously wouldn't be playing this against non-speed decks, so when the time was right, I think as long as I can get around CoD, Charms, and Soul Devastation, I'm in the clear. The defense might be too spread out. I need some orange for Gates, and I need some PG for DoU. Maybe drop Astrologers, Forgotten History, and Two Thousand Horses. That still leaves me with two magicians for Charms and Divination, and 3 for DoU. I could probably drop Gates of Jerusalem. Brown needs buffing. It's my main brigade and it's pitiful. Complainers, Wickedness of the Tenants, Jeroboam and Nadab would be good. I'd really like SSS to get in here, with Demon Behind the Idol (Wandering Spirit really doesn't help this much...I have enough banding) to play it and recur Worshipping Demons or Destructive Sin? Or LuG...food for thought. The main concern is it being too spread out, which will really have to be deck tested.

Total Cards: 65
Lost Souls: 8
Color Guard (Saves me from my ANB)
NT Only (Maybe Site Doubler? I'd like something that helps when I don't have sites)
Site Guard (Blockage after battle FTW)
2 Liner (For obvious reasons. Plus, I like shuffling souls)
Deck Discard (SoG, anybody?)
Hand Discard (Meh. Nice here and there, plus, I'll hopefully get to use it 3 times)
Site Remover (Extra soul usage. Site guard twice? Yes, please.)
*/4 (For obvious reasons.)

Dominants: 5 (SoG, Burial, and maybe NJ would be nice...)
Grapes of Wrath (Duh)
Mayhem (Heavy Defense needs a mulligan)
Christian Martyr (Duh)
DoN (Pesky Charms, and nice for Chariot, Hezzy's Sig, Covenant with Death, or even Darius' Decree...)
Falling Away (Might want to drop for SoG. Still, it's a nice one.)

Artifacts: 9
Bronze Laver (Speed, plus nice with Gates)
Lampstand (Gotta protect that Chariot)
Chariot (Gotta get back Watchful Servant after a CM)
Hidden Treasures (Gotta play ANB pre-block)
Magic Charms (Gotta stop them after battle)
Unholy Writ (Gotta stop them after battle)
I am Salvation (I really can't afford them having a Female Only and Burial if I don't get my soul generation up. Burial/SoG/NJ/Female locks me out otherwise)
Captured Ark (just in case people are playing numerous counters)
Unknown Nation (extra blockage)

Fortresses/Sites: 12
Gates of Samaria (Sneaky stuff)
Gates of Jerusalem (I could drop this one. Manny's band isn't THAT important)
Gates of Hell (Extra blockage after battle)
Z's Temple (Joiada speed)
Samaria x7 (Duh)
Ends of the Earth (just in case)

Heroes: 4
Haggai (Nabs Z's Temple, can play ANB pre-block)
Joiada (Pentecost recursion...speeds things up a bit)
Aaron (ANB pre-block, potential banding to Moses, and protects Lampy in a pinch)
Watchful Servant (Nothing in the meta stops him. If anything does show up, Samarias and stuff can take care of it. CoD is tricky, but is stopped by DoN, Captured Ark, or LuG. CoD is a legitimate concern)

Enhancements: 2
A New Beginning (Samaria reset, I keep my ECs, so no worry about getting screwed there. Also, a nice mulligan in a pinch)
Pentecost (speed)

Multicolor Evil Characters: 3
King Manasseh (Duh)
Astrologers (Invoking Terror abuse)
Egyptian Magicians (Better Invoking Terror Abuse)

Pale Green Characters: 1
Assyrian Survivor (Initiative and soul generator)

Pale Green Enhancements: 5
Death of Unrighteous (Samaria reset)
Two Thousand Horses (Play first FTW)
Forgotten History (Duh)
Invoking Terror (Shuts down Moses cold)
Divination (stacking the deck helps defensive heavy...a lot.)

Brown Characters: 6
Gomer (duh)
King Ahab (Searches for Gates)
Jezebel (Helps Ahab actually win a battle)
Uzzah (obvious reasons. Nice in a pinch)
Ammy Slave (soul generation, plus it gets out an Israelite King if I need one...or Uzzah in a pinch)
King Omri (Great autoblcok character

Brown Enhancements: 4
Haman’s Plot (duh)
Nadab’s Stolen Vineyard (Site lock...not that many people can get around sites this year...)
Gibeonite Trickery (Duh)
Korah's Rebellion (site lock, interrupt win? winning.)

Orange Characters: 3
Spirit of Temptation (could be dropped...he's more for stealing my opponent's characters and dropping something destructive)
King of Tyrus (Duh)
Seven Wicked Spirits (Super cool guy can steal my opponent's characters...they won't know what hit them. Realistically, he could be dropped too...)

Orange Enhancements: 2
Worshipping Demons
Destructive Sin

Multi Evil: 1
LuG

Hope, I'm not being obtuse but here's my suggestion

Prophets and Angles

Heroes - 7
Isaiah
Habakkuk
Hosea
Micah
King Hez (priests)
Serephim (RoA)
Sereph with a live coal

Enhancements - 5
Spiritual Warfare/Live Coal
Bears(!)
Frogs(!)
Isaiah's Call
Protection of Angles

Forts - 1
Obby's caves

Micah can recur Bears(!), Frogs(!) and Isaiah's Call, Spiritual Warfare is just a cross playable enhancement (feel free to put another non-AnB card in instead) and Protection of Angles is bau5.

But you shouldn't worry about enhancements, you'll be getting all your rescues with Hez+Isaiah.

I tried to work your ideas in there, but I couldn't really build anything good with them. Probably because they were your ideas.  ::)

Hidden Treasures + ANB resets all of my Samaria sites. I can use Gates 24 times. The point of this deck is to abuse it as much as possible, and two cards to be able to decrease up to 8 more characters by 6/6 is totally worth it. I'm even considering adding a temple and lampy to ensure it isn't DoN'd as soon as I activate it. And a Chariots in case I run out of characters.

I think Gates of Samaria is the bigger problem. I have 3 Kings of Israel, so that shouldn't be as much of a problem, and I really don't need to discard King Jeroboam I until the ANB.

How about...

King Hezzy
King Hiram
Isaiah
Seraph with a Live Coal
Micah

Isaiah's Call
Siegeworks
ANB
Two Bears
Frogs

Royal Parade

Obadiah's Caves
Hidden Treasures

Angel Under the Oak
Gideon
Samuel
David (Green)
Isaiah
Seraph with Live Coal
Hezekiah

Isaiah's Call
Two Bears
Samuel's Edict
ANB

Hidden Treasures
Valley of Salt (to make your two bulletproof heroes +2/2 per turn/make your Seraph/Isaiah band +4/4 per turn)

Just an idea.  It would also speed up the deck some.  I don't think you'll need many offensive enhancements, since you can use Gates to decrease ECs, plus you will have so many EEs in hand most of the time.

I like the idea of Samuel. I think I'd drop Gideon and Samuel's Edict though. Maybe add Siegeworks (I'm really concerned about giant bands shutting me down), and King Hiram.

I agree that Samuel would be a better choice. Prophet's biggest downfall right now is they aren't really fast.

Needs more Angel of Warning.

Bump with edit. I have a bit of Samuel speed, but still nothing to search for Gates of Samaria. Turns out there aren't many evil cards that search for Gates, and I have precious little room in my good for it...I'm hoping my defense will be able to stall until I get it, and considering I have 3 ways to shuffle my souls back in, it shouldn't be too hard.

King Ahab searches for Gates of S.

Imo it might be worth it to bump the deck to 70 or 77 since the point of the game is to stall/spam just add more defense or more offense battle winners and add fort searchers such as King Solomon, King Hiram, Zach ect. I did this a while back pre texp with a palsy deck and it works just fine.

I learned my lesson with Trollolol. If somebody sees you playing a 70+ deck, they're going to play slowly intentionally and I'll lose/time out win. I really wanted to though.

Dropped SoG.
EDIT: Need SoG. 7-3 (SoG/NJ/Burial)=4. That's not enough to win...Dominant Cap/NJ-can-only-rescue-your-opponent's-souls can't come soon enough.

Don't you need 9 lost souls for a deck over 63? Hmmm. Cheater!

He said physical version didn't include Iron Pan which would put it at 63 cards.

But he wants Iron Pan in it, which would mean that he needs the extra lost soul when he gets it in there. He can't just add Iron pan, like he did with the list of cards.

Or perhaps he's waiting for suggestions on what to take out to add Iron Pan and keep it at 63. It's commonplace in deck threads like this to have a deck total with not enough Lost Souls if you're trying to find stuff to take out.

That's what I do!

On second thought, Iron Pan isn't half as necessary as SoG. Fix this deck.

I personally like iron pan because it shuts down the new kingswith there two ignore cards which cannot be negated with I am truth and they hav first inish with Throne of david. Id say get rid of the adding sam idea and do purple kings slash Isiah. If you need more speed then just abigal and throne of david ad penticost in or if you have to add in feast of tr. Now if you do this you have to get rid of iron pan because it gets rid of two cbn ignore enhancments( if you have I am truth) I know I dont post alot but just take this into consideration.
