I have an offense I like but I can't really find a good defense to go with it. I've tried canaanites, but those didn't work too well. Now I think I might try Kings of Israel or Syrian capture. In testing this Offense I only need maybe +5 Blocks. Any suggestions?
this is the offense

Abby
David (red)
Samuel
King Amzaiah
King Hiram
King Soloman
Ismaiah the Gibeonite
Ahimilek the Hittite
Ashael

Freedom!
Bravery of David

I might have missed something because I didn't have it in front of me.

Kings of Israel is one of the best mid-to-large size defenses you can get. Babylonians is one of the best small-to-mid size defenses you can get. Assyrians are also a decent smallish defense. Syrians are not up to par with any of those, but otherwise one of those choices might be good, depending on the deck size.

It depends on what your offense is and how many card slots you have. If you could furnish that information we'd be able to help much more.
As a side-note, GoJ>GoS imo.

I'll post my offense later today after school. I was thinking about Syrians because I've never tried them before and they seem fun and decently small. They are also less expensive than Philistines or even Babs. I'm still open to suggestions :).

I can almost guarantee whatever offense you post, people will recommend not using Syrians with it ;)

I don't need something top tier just something that works

In other words, not Syrians B)
The only time Syrians would possibly be ok in a defense is with a mono-Red offense.
-
Pol is just being cynical. Syrian's can work and are not a bad choice if your card pool is limited. They aren't top tier and will not win the next high level tournament, but they can be fun and effective in casual play.

Also, certain T2 decks benefit from the unique protection offered by House of Rimmon...but in general, they are not a great T1 defense. They depend too much on one strategy, and dont have the benefit of initiative characters or Iron Pan like Babylonians do.

First post edited with offense.

I have found Brown Kings (Samaria or Judah) to work very well with a Red/Purple offense.

Maybe something like this...
King Omri
King Jehoash
king saul
King Ahab
jezebel
Ammy's Slave
Uzzah
x7 Samaria sites
Gates of Samria
Breaking Jerusalem's Wall
Gib trick
Dungeons of Malcaiah
Wickedness of the tenants
Land Purchase
-
Samaria x7 is a recipe for disaster. The reason GoS is so underrated right now is that everyone uses WAY too many Samaria. I'd suggest:
OUT:
Samaria x4
Land Purchase
Breaking Jerusalem's Wall
IN:
Plagued with Diseases
Chemosh
King Nadab
King Jereboam II
Haman's Plot
Image of Jealousy

I have three different Gates of Samaria decks, and have found that 3-4 Samaria is sufficient. Except in my 154 card deck, then its 21 all the way.
