Hello Everyone!

My name is David (Eugene).

So I bought the starter decks G and H in the 10th anniversary tin a few years back.

I recently started playing with them and am hooked.

I also have starter decks C and D.

I also have about 40 random cards from various booster packs.


I was wondering how to custom build a deck. I understand from viewing these discussion boards that there are various strategies (heavy defense, "speed," etc).

I mean which booster packs/expansions are the best bet for getting actually usable and efficient cards. I don't care about rare or ultra rare cards. I just need cards that'll ge the job done.

Im willing to spend money on expansions and such, but I'd like to know which ones are the "best."

Also, I've seen multiple deck suggestions and many of them seem to have only one color brigade heroes for the entire deck? Is this wise?

Agreed, the best way to make the leap between starters and pro decks is to play online a LOT, especially with helpful big-name players. I know I personally can spend hours after slaughtering a newer player online helping him to get on the other end of the slaughter next time.

Pro tips for starting out:
Don't expect to win any games for a good long while. You're playing to get better at this point.
Listen to opponents who are telling you why they're thrashing you and take their advice seriously.
If you play against someone and they disconnect immediately after the game, focus on playing them less than playing people who stick around and talk.

I agree with stefferweffer, Buy TxP and Disciples. - Let me give you the basics.



Lost Souls:
- You need seven Lost Souls for a deck with 50-56 Cards. And no, that does not mean you have 50 cards then you add seven lost souls.
If you want to build a 57-63 Card deck you will need 8 Lost Souls

Good Heros, and Enhancements:
- You should have at least seven heros. Heros are the cards with cross icons in the top, left hand corner of the card. You cannot have multiple heros with a special ability in the same deck.

-You should have at least three battle winners. What I mean by battle winners, is, something with a cannot be negated ability. This goes with eliv enhancements as well.

Evil Charactars:
- You should have at least eight evil charactars, and it is the same with them. You cant have multiples of evil charactars with special abilities in your deck.

Dominants :

- Have theese:

Son of God , New Jerusalem ( for a tournament deck) Angel of the Lord, Christan Martyr, Falling Away( for tournament deck) , Burial.

I would also advertise for online play and see what decks you like best and then you should go and buy what you need. If you are looking mainly for a deck idea and a brigade to start with I would suggest one of the FooF or RoA sets to get the exact brigades you are looking for.
