I find adding Gabriel, Chamber, David's Harp, Covenant of Eden, and Chariot of fire are a easy 5 card offence that I add to all my defenseless decks. It also means that you don't need Holy Grail, and it is easy even if someone else has a lot of ignore cards.
-
It actually has heroless cards, but eventually the deck will have heroes to rescue the five lost souls, and I was offering a alternative to that.
-
And by eliminating that, you're no long making it heroless. Josh is the king of the heroless deck; he's been messing with it for years, I'm sure that he knows what he's doing ;)
-
Have you tested this deck out? Last time I ran heroless or a herolite decks I was getting squashed on a consistent basis by Sam decks.

O_o two chariots? Thats a lot of big deck if you're running 2 (100+)

Not against sam decks. I've ran it into other decks but I haven't hit a single t1 sam deck.

What do you like about Eygptians? Honestly, I am not seeing too many blocks here.

the subject title in the thread is EPIC :rollin:

What is the reason for including Dragon Raid? Is it just in case you convert someone other than Saul for your hero?

Threefold reasons A is the reason you mentioned B is deck discard ls C is site guard + Dragon raid = free adding ec to battle whenever I need it.

Cuz egyptians best pyramids ever? No, I love the deck discard and it has quite a few blocks if you include warden. I could 7 straight battle winners, not including my artifacts/bands/fbtn stuffs.

Considering you are running a 70 deck and I count around 12+ battle winners (not counting Warden) out of a MASSIVE 40+ card defense. You could do alot better than that with 40+ cards. But... I think I am only thinking this is a problem because your deck doesnt cycle very well... I mean your only drawing card is Bronze Laver and your deck has no way to search for it.
Maybe try Herods? They would keep the same kind of feel as the Egyptians i.e deck discard/hand discard/capture but give you more options and allow you to make a more splashy deck.
Moral of the story is... you can make a competitive Heroless deck  You just cant use the same deck template as before.

This defense is a tournament winning one not saying too much but I do know it works. I wanna test it more and now that I got rts finally working again I can.
This is the first draft of the deck, The year before dreaming P came out, it was Herods, then it switched back to Egyptians with the Joseph set.
I have Laver, Dreaming P, Horses, E magicians, Seven years, Baker, swift horses for cycling.
The biggest issue I hit is silver *pure silver* offenses.

I guess it depends on what decks you are facing in Florida but if you went to a say a regional tournament out state k I would for sure use a Herod tech like Isildur suggested for 3 reasons: A) They are really good against disciples which are very popular this year B) they help your discard theme because of Salome and Rash Oath and Agrippa makes Escape to Egypt cbn 3) They work with your Herod's Temple.

My most recent Heroless/Herolite decks have all been Herods/Sadducees and Herods/Egyptians (usually with WS for this one). Herods are really good as a stonewall-type defense, just because they tech so well against the most popular decks. Sadducees are nice because black is such a good "kill all the Heroes" brigade (Wrath, Hunger, JiP vs. a Banding Chain, etc.) and they have good synergy with Herods (Herod Agrippa II and HP Ananias can bring down a bunch of the popular two-Hero CBN/BTN bands by themselves). They also allow the use of Urim and Thummim, which may not be as necessary now with VP available, but it still is nice to use it more than once.
Egyptians I've used primarily with Hero-lite WS decks, because the Deck Discard is nice to get them down to count, and with a small offense I don't necessarily have to destroy their offense completely in order to win which is good since Egyptians are better at stalling than domination.
One other thing I have found necessary in my past few Heroless iterations is Goshen. The reason is that in the turn between using Holy Grail to convert Saul, and Hidden Treasures to wipe away the D, oftentimes Saul would get targeted by Invoking Terror. Once you get rid of the D, there shouldn't be anyone to play it on, but that one turn is often critical.
