Adjusting defense for Red deck

So I am running a Red offense and used to run a Syrian capture defense. That didn't do so well in tournaments so I am moving toward either a Philistine Defense or a mix of capture and Phili + Shechem for transfer fun.

Current Offense

Red Heroes - 8

Uriah The Hittite
Amasai the Raider
Heldai
The Centurion at Capernum
Spy
Ishmaiah the Gibeonite
Abishai
Ahimelek The Hittite

Red Enhancements - 7 (I think this could be improved)

Bravery of David
Book of Gad the Seer
Freedom!
Buckler
The Battle is the Lord's
A Soldier's Prayer
David's Mighty Men

Artifacts -6

Thirty Pieces of Silver
Altar of Incense
Unholy Writ
Darius' Decree
Chariot of Fire
Ark of the Covenant

Duel Color -1

Foreign Sword

Doms - 7
SoG
NJ
CM
Burial
DoM
Grapes
AotL

Total 29

So I have room for a 20 card defense or a little less plus something to flesh out the offense.
I'm tempted to add a few curses like RBD and CoD to help myself out as well.
I might be tempted to go 63 cards. I could also use LS suggestions, thanks!

I would consider dropping a few arts and if you want to capture then babs are the way to go for defense

Right now for the twenty card slots I'm thinking

Black Evil Characters - 4 (I want a goliath)

Shechem
Philistine Garrison
Philistine Armorbearer
Philistine Priests

Black Enhancements - 7

Land Dispute
Philistine Chariot and Horses
Devourer
Overwhelmed by Philistines
Stone of Thebez
Fortify Site
Bringing Fear

Fortresses 2

Philstine Outpost
Raider's Camp

Sites - 1
Ashdod

Grey Characters - 3

King Cushan-Rishathaim
King Hazael
The Strong Force

Grey Enhancements 5

Night Raid
Snare
Deadly Snare
Syrian Victory
Naaman's Chariot and Horses

Total 22 (Need to cut two)

For Heroes I'd take out:
Amasai the Raider
The Centurion at Capernaum

And put in:
Asahel
The Centurion at Calvary

For your good enhancements I'd take out:
Book of Gad the Seer
Buckler
David's Mighty Men
The Battle is the Lord's

And put in:
David's Triumph
Centurion's Proclamation
Warrior's Spear
Battle Cry

As far as that defense goes I'd take out:
Philistine Priests
Devourer
Fortify Site

And put in:
Fallen Warrior

I'd also suggest taking out Thirty Pieces of Silver and/or Altar of Incense for Goliath and/or Twelve Fingered Giant. (I'd go with the two for two).

Shechem only dose his party trick for his buddies.

(he only works if there is another Canaanite in play)  Right now as you have it he's no fun.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Half of my heroes are Canaanites.

That will work (wasn't thinking about that  :P)

Red and black do have some good synergy but I would just play all Canaanites. They can do some nice things with red and self capture.

I have never actually seen a full Canaanite defense before.
