My son's deck needs help!

My younger son is looking for a way to boost his deck. He's already changed the defense to Egyptian, which he likes (except against my Journey to Egypt), and is playing a Blue/Silver offense. He also doesn't have access to every card, but has a fair collection and can always borrow some from me.

I told him first step would probably to get down to 56, then beg/borrow some more SA LSs. He was impressed by the changes I made to my deck on the advice I got here, though, so he wants input from the forum.

take out all silver and go all genesis blue
switch 3 liner for 2 liner and take out that green/gold site and put in hormah
switch out anti burial and put in revealer
take out tables of the law and put in chariot of fire and take out both generic and put in wanderer and site doubler

i'm gonna have to build this and see what you can do with it cause the offense/defense ratio is un even and there's more defense then offense

#1 - I agree with you that he should cut it down to 56.

#2 - I agree with Raven that he should go straight Genesis on offense and use his angels to make a 2nd deck.  But assuming that he doesn't have the FooF/RoA cards, then I would do something along the following lines.

#3  Take out ( 15 ):
Generic LS
Generic LS
Shuffler LS
Tables of the Law
Angel at Jerusalem
Abram
Chastisement of the Lord
Courage
Captain's Sword
Death of Firstborn
The Fourth Seal
Three Angels
Jannes
Egyptian Charioteers
Mask of Fear

Put in ( 8 ):
Deck Discard LS
Wanderer LS
Captured Ark
Obedience of Noah
Job Overcomes
Journey to Egypt
Baptism
Protection of Angels (priests)

I would add 2 more egypts in and have a few of the site ability lost souls in. I used it in my deck for egyptians and it is very effective. Kind of a mini site lockout, other than that the defense looks stable. I would love to play against this deck seeing how it fairs up. Looks interesting XD

Hello. I think that the deck should slim down to 56. I also recomened what 3 liner said. Now. I always have more offense then defense. this way, you can get all the good enhancements and have just enough defense to slow your opponent down. I recommened FooF. I forget which tin it is, but in some tin, they have blue/genesis heroes and enhancements. Another good card to throw in there would be the new promo for goshen. also more thing. get a falling away. next to the SoG/NJ combo it is the most important dominant. it slows your opponent down so much. More egyption cards can be found in a tin from Foof and another tin in RoA. lastly, depending on how much, capture you throw in with your egyption, you might want to throw in a Raiders camp and a card that searches for it. the deck seems pretty solid. I wish your son good luck!

I disagree about Falling Away. I almost never used it even when just GoyS was out, now with the advent of LotS I don't think any of my decks use it. It's simply a wasted card if drawn after your opponent draws GoyS or activates Lampstand.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Not a waste card for me. I use it with Philistine Outpost XD

Jon made some adjustments. He doesn't have a Captured Ark. so he put in Lying to God. Otherwise, he's trying all of the Prof's suggestions, although he was reluctant to part with Jannes when he's using PTR. I'm curious-why not use Jannes? I did find in my own Egyptian defense deck in ROOT that I need more pharaohs/kings to make PTR work, so is that the reason?

I think Jannes/Jambres is a great combo. Especially against FBTN since it can't be negated. makes them....11/12? i believe

I don't really play Egyptians much, so maybe someone else with more experience would keep him in there.  But I thought that he was the 1 EC that least supported your son's strategy of deck discard, and someone had to come out :)

I'd sooner take out Shishak than Jannes. I love playing Egyptian, and he's a great card to have.
