Title: Coming of the spirit!
Post by: jbeers285 on May 26, 2015, 11:37:40 AM
I am curious what others think.

In a deck running The Holy Spirit, and a couple clay battle winners with disciples which version of coming of the spirit would you run?

1st edition says (approximately):place on a disciple to search dexk or DC pile for the Holy Spirit and play it to draw 2 cards

2nd addition says (approximately): place on a disciple it gains clay. Search deck or discard pile for the Holy Spirit and play it.

Basically I'm wondering if you think the possible draw versus a Garunteed addition of clay to a disciple is better?

If I'm running Reassuring Angel I go with the draw version. If I don't have RA, I think I would go with gain Clay version.

The main problem I would have with the 'gain clay" version is that it is tied to the "place".  When there is a colon after the place, that means that the effect has "while placed in that location," meaning that losing the enhancement loses you the clay.  Is that more useful than the D2?  In Fruits decks, probably, since that is how you give all of them to Thad.  Otherwise?  D2 is probably better.
