I used AUTO on in an angels prophets deck. Draw 2 is really good, even if you don't have the judge to exchange with.
Not to mention that AUTO exchanges for 2 very good Green Prophets, and one of them searches out another solid Green prophet.
What are some good combinations with AUTO?
The thing that makes AUTO so good is his targets are so flexible.
Gold Judges already have a lot of solid heroes. Jair, Ehud, Jephthah, and old Moses are all top-tier rescuing options. Also, it turns out that 6/6 or 6/8 heroes without special abilities, but infinite bulletproofiness, are really good. And let's not even talk about Sam's Edict.
But if you think of AUTO in terms of mono-Gold, you are missing out on 90% of AUTO's power.
AUTO to Samuel to any version of David or Saul is basically a D5, and it hits Gold/Green/White/Red/Purple. That alone is worth including in basically any deck that uses those colors.
David the Shepherd searches for Throne of David and puts it straight to play - so it activates when David gets blocked on his first rescue. All you need is AUTO, Samuel, or David in your opening hand to get Throne on your first rescue.
Also, the CoW Saul and the RoA Abigail just add to the insane drawing engine of AUTO/Sam/David/Throne. In case you didn't know, Saul bands to both Abigail and David. If you have an ideal starting hand with these heroes, you can draw about 25% of your deck in one attack, and that's not even counting any cards drawn off of Throne.
AUTO also tutors Joshua, which means AUTO tutors Captain of the Host. Joshua is also Red, so he fits into Throne decks with David extremely well. In fact, my favorite versions of the Throne offense are basically Red/Purple, using Foreign Sword, Sword of the Spirit, Counsel of Abigail, and sometimes A Soldier's Prayer as Red GEs.
AUTO also tutors the new Moses, which when coupled with Joshua/Captain forms the "newest and shiniest" version of FBTN. Coliseum only serves to strengthen FBTN decks.

And this isn't even mentioning Angelic Guidance or Wheel Within a Wheel, which both search out AUTO from deck.
