I wouldn't use even the most fine tuned fbtnb offense in type 1 2 player because scattered and Foreign wives are basically in every competitive deck. Scattered cripples the deck and at least forces you to attack in small chains that are easier to beat. Foreign wives makes now makes set up difficult because with pentecost, firstfruits, mustering for war, and ishmaiah are not liabilities when you want to make rescues. To run an effective fbtn deck you really need to set up your chain quickly AND keep it going.

This deck (honestly) isn't even close to an ideal fbtn banding build. If you would like to look at one, try Martin Miller's build that won nationals a couple years ago. He didn't even play that style at last years nationals. If you have questions about how it works let me know.

Generally though his fast defense is what you are looking for in a deck like this. Pharisees are the best for that because they are the fastest while at the same time have a lot of decent blocks for such a light defense. This year I think you are on the right track for defense. I doubt a light defense will cut it as it will not be able to sustain the blocks it needs to overcome Foreign Wives and Scattered. On the other hand if you run a middle to heavy defense your offense won't set up as fast and will therefore walk into scattered more often. At least you may be able to hold them off for a while if your defense is larger. The one thing going for you is that fbtnb is really good against the meta defense. Personally if I played it in a tournament today I would use a warriors Gabriel/Hidden Treasure tech to get rid of scattered. In summary, I would try something else for tournament play but if you decide to check out Martin's (TH3Un4giveable) so you can streamline it more and add some techs.

Thank you for the feedback. If I added Amasai the Raider and Gabriel, do you think that would make the offense playable? Any suggestions for the defense? Or would it be best to work on something else?

It's tough to say. Those are some good counters. I didn't think of Amasai good call. On the other hand Nazereth is fairly popular. Defensively then I think your best bet is making an Assyrian-Babylonian so you can throw in Iron pan to shut off Nazereth. Wastelands is also an option if you would like. The only thing you have to worry about is that you might be taking up to many slots for counters. If you are confident that the fbtnb works that much better than Disciples or the Deck then go for it. Its worth a shot at least. Once you have done some number crunching edit what you have and I can take a look at individual cards after that.  :)

Alright, I have updated the deck. I guess this post shouldn't be Banding Fun anymore, since the defense was changed. I put in Amasai as Scattered tech and Pan, Dodai, Wastelands, and Siege Army as Nazareth tech. I also tried to put a lot of drawing in the defense. Now that I think about it, along with Foreign Sword, I might not need all that Naz tech. But maybe I do so Amasai is sure to take out Scattered. Maybe I can cut some of it out to get down to 50 cards. Thanks for the help.
