Whats the better way to obtain useful cards?

Hi there,

meanwhile I obtained Starters G - J in order to play with some friends (hopefuilly). Included have been 6 boosters (3 blue + 3 green) which seem to be not very useful as far as I can appreciate.
In addition I ordered 1 Disciples pack (quite cheap on Amazon and no shipping costs). Since Disciples expansion contains lots of good cards I wonder whether it would be a good idea to order some additional packs but I fear I might get just a lot of duplicates instead of lots of different cards!

What do you think, would it be a better idea/chance to order several of Disciple expansion packs or better go for individual cards (since I am in Germany latter attempt might be more hard due to package and shipping costs)?

Do you go to a play group? People there are almost always willing to trade cards. Also you can trade on the boards and order from three lions (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/links/?sa=visit&id=4)

Depending on what you are considering "useful," I am selling cards really cheap, and can try to include some "useful" cards for you!  Let me know what you are looking for.

Whichever route you decide, I would be happy to help you make it affordable with the shipping to Germany since I've really tried to encourage international players! I run Three Lions Gaming, so just let me know what you end up choosing to buy, and we can work something out. :)

Right now, it sounds like you're just wanting to build up your collection.  For that, I would recommend continuing to buy packs, especially Disciples and Thesaurus (and the new set whenever it comes out).  You'll get a mix of newer cards as well as older cards, and you're getting 15 total per pack.  In my experience, buying Disciples packs in batches of up to 5-6 at a time doesn't lead to a lot of duplicates, but that is the chance you take buying boosters of any kind.  And dupes have their uses, too.

When you're ready to hone in on building specific decks, you'll want to buy singles and FooF/Roa sets.  This will let you get what you specifically need, instead of letting chance decide what cards you get.

Yes, thats right. Just still collecting. I already have some duplicates but I don't think that they are tradable (no special abilities, weak and so on). Today the disciples expansion arrived and contains some gr8 cards! Unfortunately I will not be able to use all of them due to the coloring and whats already available here.
Just ordered another 3 disciple expansions.

But so far I did not find any shop besides Cactus Game Design itself which lists all the available Expansions and Tins? Also could not find Expansions, Starters or Tins within Three Lions Gaming - or did I miss something?

If you click "Visit Our Store", you have a listing of the expansions on the left - those are for individual cards. In the middle are the starter deck individual cards, as well as the G/H and I/J complete sets. On the right are booster packs and tins. :) Does that help?
