Today we attended JDS' local tourney. It was yet another memorable one. We were only 8 players but from four different States. For me it was a mini-Nats as half of the players at least had Regionals and/or Nats championship standings.
But for me, apart from the nostalgia that JDS may yet be one of the longest active players in the game (and he's barely 23 *edit :D ), we found out that John, the store owner of Gamer's Realm in West Windsor, indeed got a chance to play-test the very cards that became Redemption's starter decks A and B! John further explained that he experienced play-testing the cards at an Origins convention sometime in 1995.
God's perfect timing just overwhelms and blesses me!
Peace!

Thanks so much for attending the tournament, it was a lot of fun.
I should also mention that I'm 22.

JDS hits yet another homerun by helping a veteran playgroup restart their tournaments after a few years in hiatus. And thanks to Steve B. and his sons for coming back home to the Redemption household.
Kudos to NJ State!

Anyone in the NJ area-make sure you come out to the local tomorrow at Colts Neck Community Church in Colts Neck, NJ. (I am, not quite coincidentally, currently the interim pastor there.) We hope to have a few of our youth out for a demo/mini-Sealed Deck alongside the main events, Type I 2p and Booster Draft. Justin is our gracious host.
Oh, and FREE SNACKS!!

That's what I actually mean by the awakening in NJ! The sleeping giants have awakened! And Colts Neck is yet another great venue for NJ States and even Regionals if NJ bids.
Today, I have not gotten over my nostalgia to see players who were 15 when I first met them and are now professionals and college students. Those who were still barely in elementary are either finishing middle school or are in hight school. This is all a testimony to how He preserves His game. All we do is plant the seeds!!!
By the way, this 'small' Local tourney had 15 people attending. Awesome!
Godbless all!!!

We had quite a mix at the Colts Neck, NJ local. Two totally new players learning the game, a 10-year-old playing her first real tournament, and some veteran champions and contenders. Both events were hotly contested. Just a great time all around. Thanks to Justin for hosting and Roy for providing the cards/sleeves/etc., as well as all the players. We hope to have you back at CNCC in the near future!
