This would work if you could give your opponent Gideon's 300, which i don't think you can do. if you can do that, this would work and be really powerful. But as of right now, you would set aside and discard all of YOUR heroes!

But it does work homeskillet.

Originally Gid's 300 did not have the protect ability. The 300/Choose the Rescuer/Decree combo was discovered during playtesting leading to a late change that added the protect ability. While it does still work with Coliseum, we decided that there were enough individual cards required that if someone could pull all that off, they deserved to reap the benefit of the combo (and thus we decided not to add a CBP or CBN modifier to 300).

it works with less cards than you think lol

Choose the rescuer card (or a side battle card such as King Rehoboam)
Coliseum
Darius Decree

I'm confused how this would work. Gideon's 300, although controlled by the opponent is not owned by them, so it should set aside your guys right?

Apologies for the necropost...  Just wanted to point out that this combo can be done with 1 card:  Great Image 

I discussed this combo with a friend, and we agreed that Great Image, or the Hypocrisy/Mayhem combo, are both much easier to pull off and do basically the same thing.  We couldn't find a reason to run the combo in a deck.
