Title: Windows of narrow light
Post by: Ironisaac on January 19, 2017, 12:13:30 PM
I don't know how well this would work, but i could in theory work pretty well, especially with gathering of angels. The main combo is is a mostly silver offense, most of those being no special ability angels. you have windows of narrow light active and chamber of angels in play. Your angels with no special ability are then protected from capture, conversion, and removal from the game. if they are discarded, they go straight to chamber of angels for two turns and boom, they are back.

there are obviously some weaknesses with this, like the fact that you have a bunch of garbage no ability angels if WoNL is discarded or you can't get either chamber or WoNL out of your deck. moses also shuts this down pretty fast, negating many cards that i mention in the next paragraph that help speed this up.

There are some ways to overcome these problems however. Filling Zerubbabel's temple and King Belshazzar can both get a temple artifact back from discard, so that can help with the WoNL. The patriarchs protection of jerusalem can protect your chamber from discard at the small cost of two angels permanently set aside. (good thing decree isn't very popular right now) Zacchaeus can get your chamber out really fast, and temple dedication can get your WoNL out. one good way to stop moses is holy of holies which, wouldn't you know it, is a temple artifact! you also don't really have to worry about coliseum, unless you are running a lot of CBN cards.

with all this teal and temple shenanigans, i would say you could probably make a pretty cool anti meta teal/ silver deck. I think this kind of deck might be better for newer players so they can have fun with all the no special ability angels that they will inevitably end up having, but i think it may be competitively viable and i am really tempted to try it out on lackey. anyways, all thoughts, comments, and feedback is always appreciated!

Iron, I think it sounds pretty cool. I like Teal and Silver a lot.

Angels don't benefit from WoNL that much. A lot of the most popular capture cards only target humans, conversion of angels isn't really a thing, and removal is pretty rare as well.

In relationship to the last t2 nationals winner this could make a phenomenal t2 deck..

Glory of the Lord searches out Solomon's Temple and CBN protects both the temple and WoNL.

CWD seems like a legit addition for any WoNL offense.

You can have 4 copies of Legion of Angels in a T2 deck.

However, Red Wing's concerns are also legit.  Not to mention that rescuing with AUTO/Mike/Capn/TSA/Gabe is, in my opinion, better than attacking with no-SA angels that have WoNL's protection.

I kind of disagree..

While they are great heroes there are awesome tiny angels with no sa like angel at Bethesda who can play battle winners such as third seal where the big guys don't get a chance and may get blocked with something cbp anyway

Andrew Wester used at T2 MP deck (built by ProfA) at Nationals 2013 where a major part of the offense was Legion of Angels just being big and hard to target (being an Angel). I believe he ended up taking 2nd. However, a large part of the T2 MP defensive meta at the time was Pharisees with Balaam's so that probably had something to do with it...  ::)
